Oh no, my bad man! There was a 92 LT1 stock. Thats what mine is. Wow, I think you're right they are rare......Oh...No, wait damn that was only one of your wet dreams. Gotta hate those.
Originally posted by Blown355Camaro: Is this car rare? its got a T5 and stock 3.73 gears. Its an Iroc Z. Has the LT1 motor.
No such thing on several counts:
1) No IROC-Z's after the 1990 model year,
2) The last year 3.73's were offered was 1985,
3) No LT1 ever made it into a third gen.
To Monkie,
The content in your responses in this thread is not technical in nature and is very argumentative. All you're doing is provoking an argument and is considered non-constructive. Consider this a word of warning...

Or in this case others' lies! but hey thats ok with me! Im learning a crap load of stuff I didnt know. Did you know there was a 92 LT1 IROC Willie!? I never knew that!
I think lies is a bit harsh. I don't know this individual, but maybe he came across a car where the person claims it has an LT1 in a 92 IROC-Z.
There are people that have swapped an LT1s and 3.73s into 3rd Gens. And IROC-Z decals are easily purchased. Obviously this car is not stock, but the swap is definitely do-able.
Also, I have met individuals who thought a TPI engine was an LT1. I informed them they were incorrect and they INSISTED it was an original LT1. Even when you know they are misinformed, sometimes you have to shrug your shoulders.
Glenn is absolutely right. I can't construe any misinformation as lies. There are a lot of guys out there who were told one thing and believed it, only to pass this misinformation along as the truth. I once checked out a 350 '87 IROC-Z. When I saw the car, it was a 305 LG4 carbed car!! Obviously, the owner didn't have a clue or was trying to pass the buck. You have to learn not to be argumentative, shrug your shoulders (as Glenn stated) and walk away with a smile on your face knowing the guy knows absolutely nothing about his own car. It usually does no good to try to convince them they are wrong -- it won't happen.
This Blown355Camaro guy is trolling all the boards just stirring up crap. On the appearance board he posted about using a brillo pad to polish your car. Just ignore him and maybe he'll go away.

I ran across a similar situation the other day. I man was trying to sell me a '94 Z28 that his mother owns. It is in really great shape, but they claim it has a Corvette motor. Upon further inspection, it does have Vette valve covers and various other markings under the hood, but stock??? I don't think so. She swears that she bought it as a factory demo with only 5,000mi on it. The kid swears that it will do circles around his buddy's SS and that it is completely stock. It's just what happens to cars. Someday I'll sell me Z28 with the Firehawk decals and all, and someone will think that it was a prototype car from SLP and give me $50,000 (now that's a wet dream!).
