Anyone know if anyone reproduces the body tags that are on the side of the driver's door? Mine have mostly curled up at this point and are illegible, all I can read is the year in which my car was manufactured. I wish whoever owned my T/A before had taken better care of it, the tags on my 85 full-size Pontiac that we bought new were almost perfect when I sold it a few years ago....

The tags on the Drivers door are probably not obtainable, especially if the VIN is located on them. Call Pontiac, Or Classicindustries.com, or Yearone.com, or Hawksthirdgenparts.com
check this guy's work out - very nice stuff, I know that he shows alot of GN stuff, but if you scroll down you can see some of his work with door decal info. He may be able to help you out.
I'm not sure if he is still around. http://ras001.0catch.com/stickers/stickers.html

He does great work.

I contacted him via email and this is what he told me.....
"Frank,
I mainly do 84 - 87 Buick GN stuff, but can do just about anything else provided you can supply good pix or scans of the originals. The colors may not match up exactly though they'll be close.
Thanks!
Russ"
So that is something to keep in mind.... I know I will be. My Notchback needs a new SPID sticker.

What's the guys email?? I checked the site but couldn't find his email. Might be interested in getting with this guy, since my tags are also worn...well, not so much worn as all the fields are erased
Yah, I emailed him also...said it's best to take a digi pic at the highest resolution and centered as best as possible. Now...I just need to find out what other stickers were on the firebirds
now seeing this make me feel ALOT better. im about to start work on my 83 T/A and he doors are full of cake along with bad hinges so im going to hafta replace the doors.

run it wide open till ya see g o d "THEN" brake!!
Does anyone else know what other stickers were on our cars beside the door jam ones? I'd like to try and get mine as correct as possible.
I know under the hood there should be some kind of emission or vac. hose label correct? I've also seen stickers that say "unleaded fuel only" behind the gas door lid.
Russ is currently working on the door stickers for me. He sent me the proofs and they are a perfect match.
I also talked to him about other stickers and he's currently looking at reproducing my VIN security stickers but he does not have a template for those so he says it may cost a bit to create those.
What it really comes down to is that he does great work and if you need a sticker that he already makes for GNs then the price is very resonable.
Great guy to deal with too.
Mark

Here are a couple of my pics...not really good, but I resized them for here. Yes, that is my thumb in the one pic...the edge is curling and I didn't have any tape
Would anyone be able to help me decipher these as to what numbers and such are susposed to be in the fields??
This first is what looks to be tire air pressure and weight.
I couldn't really get a good pic without glare and I tried not to use a flash since it made it worse...probably have to wait until I can bring it outside. The garage lighting isn't too good.
Here is the second pic. This sticker is in worse shape and I don't really know what it is for. Not sure what is susposed to be in the fields either. Anyone know? This is what I read from it.
"This vehicle conforms to all applicable federal motor vehicle safety and bumper standards in effect on the date of manufacture shown above"
Top line:
Date GVWR(?) GAWR FRT GAWR RR
The GM logo is worn at the top corner.
Bottom line:
"Printed in U.S.A."
The middle looks worn, not sure if something was there, you can almost see what looks like letters.
the far right has a number. Not sure what it is...part number maybe??
I got a reply from Russ. Says my pics are ok, but I need to have the info in the fields. I guess he can't reproduce the letters, numbers, etc...just the sticker as a whole.
So, with that said, is there anyone out there with an '82 Trans Am that has descent door jam stickers with all the numbers and letters in each field intact???

Be careful of what you are asking for. Our car's VIN and date of production is found on some of the door decals. I am not sure, but Russ may want you to have 'your own' info because doing it any other way may be "questionable". I know this is the problem I ran into up here in Canada when I attempted to do what you are attempting (I was going to take a digital poto of a friends car and work from there... ) I had called the ministry of transportation, and this is what I was told:
Long story short - the decals themselves can not be reproduced.
The only thing that can be reproduced is what is called a re-numbered vin tag and only if:
1. the vehicle is missing a VIN and therefor it must have a VIN re-applied to it so that the car can be driven legally on a highway,
2. if the vehicle is being exported/imported
Moreover:
G.M. will not re-issue the decals due to all the 'illicit' activity that goes on with vehicles today. It doesn't matter if the car was built in the '60 or 2005. They won't do it.
The only companies to ever reissue any VIN specific tags or decals according to the ministry of transportation were Ford and Chrysler - and this was only when the ministry could prove to the manufacture that they themselves had made an error when printing the tags/decals. This doesn't happen often, and of course it takes a government agency - like MTO to convince them of their error.
I think all of us can understand (and appreciate) the reasoning behind this.

I wasn't aware there was a VIN on either of these stickers...since they are worn I don't know what was on them at all...as far as date of production, I probably will never know since there isn't any info on my car that has this. Only other location I know of is the cowl tag and this was missing when I bought the car.
Each sticker is different. Difference cars will have different weights depending on what options are installed. If you get an invoice from PHS you will know what month your car was built in.
I don’t know if this will help but here you go.
The spare tire size is for the inflatable spare, I don’t know what it is for the compact spare.
I think the Camaro used consumer information table AB not IH. the format is a little messed up, if i get a pic I'll post it.
I know this is an old thread...but does anyone know the guys email address that makes these stickers? It seems his site is partially down, and I cannot find his email on any of the pages. If you can help I would appreciate it. I'm trying to get a hold of the guy to see if he can make some decals for me
I couldn’t find it either so I ended up recreating them myself on my computer using CorelDraw. When I get my car painted I’ll have them printed on some plastic stickers. It won’t be original but it should look close.
Wow, those are pretty good quality...almost looks like original GM, except I don't think they were ever manufactured for resale. Very nice looking repro though. Just wish they were cheaper...
It states in the auction you can type in the info on the bottom and it has a mylar cover just like the original.I've seen the door tags mentioned several times and I've thought there has to be replacements in case of an accident. If you go to the sellers Ebay store they have more of the tags for sale.

Glad to see this thread is helping people. The owner's name is Russ Selkirk, his email is RSelkirk@gt.rr.com and as I said before, he does exact replicas of the door stickers. I also had him do the VIN security stickers for me, he has never done those before so he had to create the font from scratch and let me tell you he did an outstanding job. Exact match to the originals. The prices I paid for all this quality were unreasonably LOW!
Highly recommended!!!!!

Russ is working on decals for my 89 TTA at the moment. How is the quality of the decals and the printing, do they hold up to the elements? How long have you had yours on the car, any pictures you can share?
As you siad Russ is a great guy, and the proofs he sent me so far are spot on. The SPI label for the Firebirds is also avalible now after he did mine from a scan I sent him. Along with the VIN stickers you worked with him on and also the Tire Information sticker (same as on the GN) along with the GVWR sticker used on the 1989 Turbo Trans Am (PAS Inc and GM). Also he will do the VIN sticker with the bar code on it found on the passanger side door.
The quality is beyond excellent. The door decals he made for me were a spot on match! He also made the VIN stickers on the doors from my pics, that was his first time for those and he made the font from scratch, once again a perfect match! Very reasonable prices too!!!
As far as longevity I do not know because I sold the Formula before I got to put them on. However, the new owner is on this site and maybe he can chime in on that subject.
I think that Classic Industires carries the PAS emmission decals? I know they have the regular cars and I think I saw the PAS one too.
Bottom line, Russ's quality is top notch!!
