Rail, are you or your car formerly from Ohio? If not, I parked next to one identical to it in the hospital parking garage when we had our son. That was in '03. The car had a black interior with the '86 deluxe fabric that seemed to be installed in a lot of '87s.
As a matter of fact, that even looks like the same parking garage.

"All original, 5.7 It L98, I have the only one In my State.
This is what a real original 87 Yellow-Gold Iroc-Z28 looks like.."
I find it hard to believe you have the only one in your state, you can't be looking too hard. I know of 6 yellow ones within an hour of here.
I am in the State Of Connecticut USA, and have a family member who Is a State Trooper Sargent for the state of Connecticut, he ran check on all 1987 Yellow-Gold Iroc's and I was the only one that came up.
Although I'm sure there are lot's of fake ones out there, but this one is as real as It gets, with a 5.7 LT L98 700r4 trans 80,000 miles.
P.S. Only reason for the bra is I always put it on when I have to drive on I95, to many trucks.
my neighpour has lived behind me for around 10 years and weve talked a nice few times but today i went over to his garage to ask him a for some help when i walked into his garage there was a yellow 86 iroc with t-tops sitting there and the car was in almost brand new condition never seen rain or snow has an insane 6.6 in it and custom black and yellow leather interior, gold rims form a gta trans am and 80000 on the clock hes had it for 8 years and i never knew it the car is beautiful i gotta take some pictures of it next time im over there
i had an 86 iroc, the original owner was Cynthia Lovelace yes the porn star! i will see if i can find a pic.
Yes, some pics of the car too please....

These are some pictures of my yeller Iroc-z It has 42k miles on it and is all original. Picked it up from the original owner who lived in katy texas. (outside of houston) it has all the original paperwork from 1986-now including window sticker etc etc.
These are the pictures from when We got it. He was also the original owner of that 78 trans am in the very far right of the last picture.

Now that's nice, clean and puuurrrrrrdy . . . I always thought IROC's looked best in red, but I'm really liking the yellow ones. For some reason they remind me of the actual IROC racers a lot more than the red ones. Maybe 'cause red is so common, I dunno. . .
This is a photo I snapped with a cellphone on 1/24/2008. It appears to be an 85-87 IROC with the wrong wheels, from an 88+ IROC.

The friends car is rare as 87 was the only year to get the 350 in a yellow IROC-Z. Most of the yellow cars I've seen don't have ttops, so this is a nice find.
damn this thread is old. We got a yellow I-roc thats been parked in bridgewater NJ right by my friends beverage warehouse. Its not abandoned, they work in the area there. It is a little aged.

Get A picture! we want to see more yeller Iroc-z's
Well I know you all are talking about yellow IROC Camaros and if they came in yellow but I'm try to buy my first car and I spotted a 1987 V6 Camaro in yellow, not a IROC but a normal coupe with a T-roof for sale on the side of the road. It caught my eye because of the fact that it was yellow and of course it body. Considering it my first car I'm kind of worried that it will fall apart before I can acctully get it up to an acceptable condition. I'm getting it looked at by a mechanic and I have taken it for a test drive with my father who said it ran well. I know these cars can sometime have lots of rust under them considerig I live in canada and it was probbly driven in the winter. So I cheacked under the car for that and it seemed pretty good to me. Anything else I should be looking for? Or any problems I might have with the car because it has lots of milage and I'm hopign this car will be something I can fix on my own.
Just happened to come across this thread and thought I would chime in. Attached is a photo of my Yellow '87 Iroc Coupe. This one left the factory with lots of goodies. It is a special order car and has the G92/ 5-speed package with 3.45:1 Borg Warner rear end. I haven't seen many Yellow/ Gold Irocs with black interior but this one was ordered that way. I have had the car for 5 years and it has spend most of that time parked while the original engine/ transmission, brakes, rear end were completely gone through (kept completely stock). Just got it back on the road 3 weeks ago and love it. The car has ZERO rust and every panel is original as well. Unfortunately the original paint is getting tired, but no need to repaint it now. I'm going to start enjoying it!
The blue Iroc in the picture is an '89 ragtop, again with the TPI 5-Speed, posi option. No rear disks as you could not get the G92 in a convertible that year, but that car has everything including factory CD player and leather interior. I recently sold the car to the owner of a Chevrolet dealership. It sits on the showroom floor with brand new Corvettes and Cobalts!

My uncle has a 1986 yellow iroc-z. It think it is the jamaica yellow that my bird is but i am not 100% sure on that. I will snap a pic next time he is over.
I just picked up a Yellow '87 Iroc. 350, T-Tops ,9 bolt with 3.45 posi, 99k miles, No rust, rot etc.. just needs some fresh paint.
It had Tan Int. but swapped to all new black since the tan was a little dirty.
160MPH Speedo (not Kph) ,Oil guage is weird it has 0 - 200- 400 for oil guage.. Prob a car that was shipped to canada at one point bceause of the reading.
Ive been debating on painting it a new yellow but think I'll stick with the factory yellow.
Will post some pic's once I get her cleaned up.

hey man it sounds good Lets see some pictures and hope to hear from there.
Just picked me up this 85 yellow iroc on Monday, previous owner has messed about with it so needs some work to get it looking original again, I have known the car since the early 90's and we think its the only yellow iroc in the UK.
When i start the restoration i will probably need some info off you guys to what it would have had standard. Has anyone got the original paint code?
looks really good! I don't have the paint code off hand and cant get it because the car is about 10 miles away in storage but when I can get to it I will. Any more pictures of the interior or engine bay? looks good.
When i get it in the workshop will get some more pics, It has a black leather interior, what where the differences between the "gold" package and the standard yellow Irocs?
There is no "gold package", cars ordered with gold striping simply got matching gold inserts in the wheels rather than gray. Most colors offered were available with the gold striping, and the choice of a black or tan interior. There were some red cars that had a red interior with the gold striping though.
This is my baby, she might not look great now but I have waited for so long... I can fix her up and she runs like a charm. (she smokes but so do I ) anyways... let me know what ya think... I really hate the door strip...should I remove them when I get it painted? I was also thinking of changing the color but I know yellow is rare... what do you guys/girls think?

I think that iroc-z is a gold find. I would keep the door trims because it keeps your doors safe and still makes the car look like a classic stock Iroc-z. I would totally redo it as a yellow car.. Not to many of them left as you can probably tell.
I will take some more tomorrow that was before I got her running and new tires and oh a bath!! Yea I think I'm going to keep her yellow I don't mind yellow, its actually my favorite color. She has blue interior thats in pretty much good shape, i will post some photos. Thanks.

lol I meant you got a good find. not the rarest thirdgen but a pretty good looking color IMO I have an 86 also as shown above
you paid maybe 500-1000$? dont know. good deal if you paid under 1500 though.
If you cleaned it all up real nice, you could probably get 3000$ for it. I don't know or have ever heard of a blue interior in a yellow Iroc but hey its possible.
Man Looks Like shes had a rough life. Good to see her getting better though.
What are your plans on the bodywork wise? I hope you try to keep it stock looking.
Its been sitting since 95. Looks rough on the outside because the paint is faded and cracked. some surface rust. besides that you would think its in good shape for being an 87.
Its getting my 3inch cowl hood and my old 91/92 Z wing. thats it for the outside. Gonna re shoot it yellow for sure. Polish the iroc rims and redo the gold in a gun metal grey or black.
...I have a yellow/gold - black cloth inter.1985 Z28 that I purchased off of the original owner in 1992. She still had her original "sneakers" on her. I will be posting her on this board for sale soon. The paint is in very nice shape for the year, never been re-painted. I knew they were rare but never really just HOW rare. Some great pics on this site. Good to see other Zs with that color.
