Re: 86 Tojan sold at auction

The Togan was made by Knudson in the 80's they also hada Carrello which was a Camaro based car.

Both cars are unusual, but interesting nonetheless, not necessarily my tatse but there not Ugly to me at least, I have seen a whole lot worse.

Re: 86 Tojan sold at auction

I agree with Okfoz it's not the best but not the worst either of the conversion cars. They look like trying to cross a 3rd gen with a a Testarosa(SP)and a Countach. And again the anouncers don't have the correct info in saying she had a 3 speed auto - wish they would read the info cards as that was clearly a TPI motor under the hood.

I just read an article that stated that Knudsen claims that there were 136 total made, of those 123 hard tops (or t-tops) and 13 convertibles.

Re: 86 Tojan sold at auction

The two aspects of the Tojan that I look reflect on.

Firstly, that the lines of the Thirdgen Camaros and Firebirds are so near ideal that you cannot improve on them.

Secondly that trying to adopt a more "organic style (i.e. the "banshee" nose of the 1991/1992 Firebirds) doesn't work with the more angular look of the thirdgens.

Every time I see that word, it reminds me of "Toejam" which is not a good thing.
