The red 89 IROC vert is a scam. I called and e-mailed the seller. The text e-mail i received telling me the terms on how the payment would be made was a dead give away. The car is only 90 mins from me and when i inquired about coming to see it, paying for it & driving it home i received another e-mail saying it wasn't possible and instructing me to give them my full name, address & payment. Buyer beware of this con artist!
yea that red 1 was posted all over craigslist and get this it was going for $2500!!! they guy said he saw a vett that he had been wanting to buy and it became availble and he could not afford both so he was selling this 1 and he said he had owned OTHER vetts and cams....
All It Is is nowadays the dealers are comming in from different states swooping sometimes 2-3 irocs/camaros/t/a's / firebirds (from illinois/north)and selling them in there home state for double of what they paid for it. It has happened with the second gens and will certainly happen with the third gens.. All I can say people is buy up and pray because these cars are being jacked up by dealers. When My dad bought his second gen camaro he paid around 10k for it 3 years ago. Now the same car at the right place will get 15-16k.
Go ahead and look on ebay how many low mileage Iroc-z's/thirdgens there are owned by dealers advertising how they bought it from a little old lady who took care of it blah blah blah. yes they may be right but the same car last year was 14k-16k now its 20-25k in their eyes. And the thing is the people with the money just buy into it With out blinking an eye. I hate dealers. Thats why I don't try to buy from them.

the first one is a nice car but 40 grand is a tad bit steep and the last one that description is... um... yeah but it makes me glad to have alloy wheels cuz heat from my brakes worry the hell outta me
I'm just happy i bought my car from a individual who had it garaged kept at only 49,000 miles on it. Seeing this kinda crap from dealers is a total red flag and nothing but
If i was forced to sell my vehicle (heaven's forbid)...as a seller, I would be as descriptive as possible and explaining what has been done to it in the past. Of course i have tons of documentation for my vehicle and keep records of services.
I would think something like that would attract a buyer to be more secure in purchasing from the seller...rather than with these scam artists who only put up one pic up and describes nothing of importance...
It's only the rebuilt engine that has 7K on it. And after reading the sad story the seller tells $3,100 sounds reasonable.
Sad story . . .

It has a new Engine with only 7,000 miles on it! I wanted to keep and restore because it does hold a good value, but due to financial situations I will have to sell, especially after some vandalism by some kids. Some cars were damaged. Mine had the windshield broken and convertible top cut up, so the rain got inside an got everything wet. The leather seats have cuts on them the dashboard is sun damaged, the leather on gear shift handle is coming off. I would recommend a complete interior make over. As for the exterior... Paint is fading and pealing but no body damage. Just fin on the trunk has been removed. With a little T.L.C., this fully loaded convertible, with a brand new rebuilt engine w/ receipt for $3,100, can be a classic on the road again, or can be purchased just for the engine. I hope somebody can appreciate this car.
