This is a great post. I have the Briar Brown contour seats in in an 83 Z/28. Some one else said there were avail without the cutom interior. Sure enough that must be what I have, wish the door panels were on my car too.

Re: Lear Siegler Camaro Conteur interior history

My car is a 1983 cross fire injection z28. Here is my LS Camaro Camaro Camaro seats. I have a small rip in the driver seat and I was wondering if anyone could tell me where I could buy this fabric. Also my seats are a little dirty so is there a cleaner i can use that will get it clean and looking like new. I'm really interested in how rare my seats are so any info would be great.

i think there's a few links at the beggining of the post about getting the material, i recently cleaned my seats, i used an industrial strength degreaser apparently, but it was VERY diluted, just a cap full in a bucket half full of water (i use the stuff to clean my wheels). then just use a brush and start scrubbing, just be careful, as this fabric seems to be delicate, also do one section at a time, and vacuume the excess after your done, also remember some parts look dirty but they are actually worn out so dont scrub too much. then let it sit in the sun and dry. after that i put some 3m scotch guard on the seats. they came out pretty good. hope this helps

James C posted this link for me when i was looking for mine

http://keenparts.com/pages/detail.ph...=290391&PL=131

It looks like it would work but that one screw hole pictured has me bothered since the real ones dont have it so im thinking its not quite right.

If you've put up a want ad and really cant find one after all that, PM me. I have an extra conteur switch with the cover that was planning on holding onto as a backup since they are very hard to come by. I might just part with the cover if your desperate.

You could use plastic filler, sand and paint.

Here's mine. I worked at Norwood and wish I had picked up some extra material back then from GM Parts. Who would have known. I think the LS Interiors are the best loking ones out there. It really sets the look of the cars off

Re: Lear Siegler Camaro Conteur interior history

They look really nice. I have the pace car with the conteur seats, but the problem I'm having is the base is a power seat unit, and I can't find the switch bezel for these kind of seats.
I've been contemplating trying a Corvette switch bezel. They look the same. I'll let you know how it works out.
Thanks

Re: Lear Siegler Camaro Conteur interior history

Hey thanks!! I will keep that in mind. I have one coming from a corvette, and they look kinda similar. Would you know if they are interchangeable? If not I'm only out $15 bucks.
What kinda shape is yours in? What will you take for it?
I'll let you know, and I'm sure glad that I know where to find one!

Re: Lear Siegler Camaro Conteur interior history

The corvette ones look like they will work with a bit of fiddling. Give it a go and let us all know how it turns out. If it turns out they will work then i can edit the original post and add that bit of information in.

As for mine its in good shape. Its got a bit of wear on the felt-like stuff on the outermost corner but its not broken in any way. The switch itself is missing the center knob but if i understand correctly your switch is fine and you only want the plastic cover. Not sure what i would take for it to be honest. Im not looking for stupid money. We can cross that bridge when/if we come to it.

Edited the first post to add this

This is the seat that most likely started our spectrum interiors and possibly the idea for the LSC seats as a whole. I had heard rumors that RECARO seats had been the idea behind ours but hadnt actually found a picture of them until tonight. Enjoy.

I think what they mean't was that the contour seats were available without the custom interior. You obviously have the custom interior. Why you don't have the door panels is a mystery. Are you the origional owner? If your cars history is unknown to you then I suspect that the panels were removed. Look closely at the panels and see if there are any staple holes, or someone may have just put on a new set of door panels for whatever reason.

Darth 93 Your interior is the base vinyl with the LS seat option which when ordered without the Custom Interior you got the standard vinyl door panels as shown in your picture. Ordering the LS interior this way cost $375.00, but when combined with the Custom Interior you got the matching cloth door panels. The cost of the option jumped up to $650.00, so for the extra $275.00 you got the door panels and the BS1 Quiet Sound Group which was included with the Custom Interior. The only way the matching cloth panels were included with the seats in 83 & 84 was with the Custom Interior option. Then in 85 the LS Interior was only available with the Custom Interior. Check your interior code on the trim tag secured to the radiator support, it should probably be 67E.

The 10 83 Z-28's used for the Miss USA Pagent had the same interior you have in your car with the base vinyl door panels..............RatPack...........
