Well, I have the 92 Yellow GTA from 2007. I plan on going to the POCI Nationals in July and then I will see if I can go to the Trans Am nationals. I was really disappointed the way the car was judged two years ago. The cars that beat my car actually had dents in the doors. The judges just voted for somebody they knew. A picture would really be cool.
Ok, it is nice that you are on this board! I was there and tried to find you but was unable to, really wanted to talk about the car. I took more pictures of that car than any other that year.
It would be great if you could make it out this year.
I also got "judged" out of 1st place last year with my GTA so don't feel bad. The judging is jus tplain crappy for a national show, but........blah blah blah
John, I did not mean to push you out of the lineup, it's just that I was making a list of purely JY cars, yours is not JY right? No offense

Alrighty then... I just was informed of a JY Formula in Grant MI. I think I looked at it back in 2001 as it is in the same general area as the one I looked at in Newaygo, MI...
I passed on the car back in 2001 BECAUSE it was an LO3... I have no interest in LO3 cars personally. If this car that I have a lead on is a LB9 car then I will go buy it...
It is in much rougher shape than it was back in 2001 that is for sure.

I was shocked too (I remember my jaw dropping when they announced the results...). I spoke with you a bit during the show and your car was very nice. I hope you bring it to Dayton again just to share it with the real Firebird fans that can appreciate it.
I will be there, I live in Dayton. I was in Okfoz's class in 2006 along with that vert that was done by Hawk's. Last year the guy next to me had a yellow T/A vert, I can't remember his username on here though. I have the red/silver hardtop T/A. I was in a custom class but cannot remember the actual class description or the letter but I won second place (and my friend Bob, who has an immaculate white 89 GTA took first).
But yeah, anyways, I will definitely be there...and if all goes right, the car will have a blower on it this year (which I'm not thrilled about the catch-all class for forced induction cars, but what can you do).

I'm paid for and reserved but not sure if I'm bringing a car, but it will be #124 if I do.

It'd sure be kool to see a whole bunch of yeller cars up there! I really don't want to trailer something, I'd rather drive up and enjoy the trip....but what to drive? I was actually thinking of just driving the 300 SRT8 and watching/helping you guys prep for the show?
Also, what would I trailer up? I'd have to round up an enclosed trailer to come up.
BTW Tony, think I'm gonna sell that red 91 Formy to make some room in the shop......

I need to get title work and plates on ole yeller also so that might be tough unless i get dealer plates..
Hes working on getting his garage cleaned out for the red car. Had to get a huge dumpster !!!!

Greg, you selling the 91 1LE Formy? Is it a done deal or can you pm me some details?
I am still 50/50 on what to bring. I am renting an enclosed trailer like last year to bring the GTA, that will be the only time out for that car this year. But I would also like to partake in the JY convention if there is one, in that case I might just drive the JY car since it wears mileage like a badge of honor.
But if I don't take the GTA then it won't be out at all this year, that sounds shameful.
Help!!!! I love these decisions I have to make...

an how hard is it to find a running smallblock ??? I mean when you dont want one they are everywhere... haha
Sooooo I might have to take the 92 T/A vert....
got sumthing to take jus not what id like to take...
I would love to be there but i have to work and my car is not finished. It is a yellow 1987 formula 350 with 41,000 org. miles. It just got painted and back on 8-16-09. I am getting the stripe tape put on it fri. It will be there next year. Post some pictures with the stripes when finshed. Love the yellow firebirds.
Bring the Hawk that you claim is real fast. I want to see it.
Claim? if you only knew... It is considered by some to be the fastest F-body ever. I find it amazing that people thought 3rd gens were slow, but in reality we had the fastest production F-body and possibly the second, the TTA is neck and neck for performance. Not even the last 4th Gen LS1 cars could compete...

Your car is beautiful!!! Bring it, do you know how lonely my will be without your car there? My Yellow Formula has been the only Yellow-Gold Firebird every year except one year someone brought a badly faded 1986 Trans Am. you have a whole week it is coming up this next weekend...
Beware, I might try to buy it from you

I would try but i have to work with no vacation left. I would love to come. Still have some minor work left to do to the car. O ya,will not sell. It took 2 years to find the car and 6 mouths to fix. The car was wrecked in front but looks good now. Hard to find parts for these ladies. Would also love to see your car.

Where are you @ in Indy? maybe we could stop by on our way thru fri?
Should we try 2 make it a JY show next year??
I dont think the 89 is going to make it.... machine shop let down. good shop but busy and one man..
I just found a short block 4 the JY formy.. getting it done depends on some things.
Looks like the 92 T/A vert is going.

cookout was a bit rushed but fun, hanging with Jim Mattison sat till 1:30 in the am was great also!
great cars, great weather, great peeps
I hope everyone made it home safe... esp Greg !!!
Good time, nice to see the old people and meet the new people!

Guys, thanks for one incredible weekend and a time I will never forget.
Rain, lightning, smokey 1, smokey 2, rockin' yellow ride, Tipp City, Autographs, New and Old Friends, late nights, long road trips and killer kars. What an incredible time!
Tony, Wag and Todd....thanks for all your help and the memories. Made it home a little after midnight last night. Draggin today.... Thanks for the UHaul drop off!
Okfoz, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you. Very nice ride!
RPM, great to meet you as well. Killer ride....did the guy from AZ stop by for a chat?
Bruce, love 'ol yeller. Can't wait to see #1. Thanks for the memories!
Tony, (Steve? and Wags)
It was great seeing you again, I am glad you made it home ok. Thanks for the cookout, it was awesome food, I even overheard Bruce raving about it the next day. He was pensive about coming, 1) because it was at someones house he did not know, 2) because he brought two more people than were originally going to come. I had to twist his arm but he gave in.
Mark,
A very well deserved first place (Class D), congratulations, I am shocked it did not happen last year honestly. Your car is beautiful... Glad you made it home safe.
Greg,
Back at you, it was my pleasure talking with you, and I really enjoyed our chat back from Tipp City. I thought I would let you know that beyond all my absolute surprise Smokey did not win... , I think it had to do with you had to be there during the awards, but I am not sure, you had some stiff competition .
KIZZ,
It was great to finally put a face to a name, thanks for helping out on Thursday, you did not need to wait but you did. Thanks for that. I enjoyed our chat on Sunday too it was neat to look at the cars with you.
Alex,
All I can say is RRRRRRR! SSSST! I doubt you will ever read this, but it was great seeing you again.
Bruce,
I am glad you came, I know you him-hawed about it for some time, now you have to come back for Terry's first place
Terry,
Congrats on your very well deserved but long overdue win (Class M)... again, your car is beautiful.
David,
I am shocked your Formula 350 did not win our class this year. The competition was much tougher this year than last...
tadan,
I met you briefly, too bad you did not bring a 3rd gen to the party. Your Comp TA is very nice tho...
John,
As always, your JY 92 yellow Convertible is beautiful... Although I doubt you will ever read this.
I am sure I am forgetting someone, if I did sorry.
Well I didnt really get to meet many people, was real busy with the family and the TTA guys but got to see some of your cars and they were awesome. Congrats to the winners and thanks to everybody that brought a car out, we had a blast and to Tipp City

Thanks John, Smokey didn't win but it did well enough to take 3rd place! ..... guess there is always next year.
TTA850....hate that I didn't get to chat w/ any of the TTA guys. Per your signature I assume you had the cloth car? Killer Ride!

Likewise, John! I'm glad we got to meet up and talk some Firebirds. Your car is excellent in every way. The subtle little touches here and there are really awesome. Like I was telling TAdan, I'm sure I inadvertently walked right by a dozen people who I know from the messageboards but who I don't recognize in real life. That's a bummer, but there's always next time I really want to take my '82 Recaro T/A next year, if I can borrow a truck/trailer for this ol' trailer queen. See you again then, hopefully!

Hey John, I saw your car up there and it was beautiful. I have been going to the Nats for 5 years and this was my first year to show. I was in K-1 up against a nice yellow 'vert and a nice black formula. Both guys were great and I'm glad to have met them. I entered to just have some fun and meet some new people. I'm not on here very often since I'm running a local board in N. Ky.
Just wanted to stop in and say Congrats to the winners!!
John: good to see you again, look forward to more statistical discussions about VIN numbers next year!
Greg, t-towner, nice to finally meet you, sorry we didn't get to hang out more, for some reason we got disconnected after Fri night, but Smokey is awesome! What are the plans?
Terry, I'm sure you won't see this, but congratulations are in order for you sir.
John JY 92 Vert, love the car! Nice seeing you again, love the story about how you got that car!
Tony, nice to meet you! Hope we have the JY convention next year, and hopefully you had no lightning encounters on the way home!
