Yeah, an '89 IROC should have the IROC stickers on the back of the door so most likely it's been repainted. I definitely don't think this car's going anywhere for $10k. It's a lower mileage car but I think the number of aftermarket parts actually hurts the value of the car. I'm not sure if it would sell with a $7500 reserve.

That car has been hacked and beat all to sh** IMHO. It would require body work and at least a partial repaint. The aftermarket "goodies" look like trash. He didn't even bother to clean it up to take the photos.
yeah i was wondering why no engine pics! One other thing that struck me was when he stated the car runs a little rough with the cold start injector....doesn't it send a red flag there. From 1988 and up, all tpi engines (assuming that iroc has it), were eliminated from the "ninth injector"....85-87 had them. I don't believe that TBI engines had cold start injectors either... So who knows what's in this car!

Actually, the cold start injector was still used in 1988.
Sure things . . .
- It's an '89 - VIN's 10th digit is a "K"
- The decals are incorrect for an '89. They have been altered or car has been repainted and errored in the decals.
- It's has the L98 350 TPI (or did originally) - VIN's eigth digit is an "8".
- It's an IROC because it has the 350 TPI in the VIN.
- The '89 L98 did not have a cold start injector.
And my personal opinion is that due to the type of mods, this car isn't likely going to fetch that much $$$ unless that one customer out there, who wants exactly what that car has, he has shows up with a wad of cash burning a hole in his pocket. But I could be wrong.
A couple things don't add up. The seller is claiming the car has been stored since 1992 (owned it 19 years and drove it only the first 2 years they owned it), it was taken out of storage in 2003 and drivin 47 miles then put back into storage. The part that doesn't add up here is the fender replacement for someone stopping short on them in 1999, while the car was supposedly in storage?

Low mileage or not, that's a $3,500 car IMO.
That cheese nugget shifter looks like something out of a late seventies Car Craft magazine feature car.
According to the window sticker its well equiped (this young guys eyes are still pretty sharp ) it also has:
Power Disc Front & Rear brakes, Limited Slip Differential, Power Antenna, Power Driver's Seat, Power Mirror. . .Well, to sum up IROC-Z Preffered Equipment Group #1.
If it weren't for the dash and the unknown engine I'd be intrested in it.
