I'm doing a cosmetic restoration on my GTA since I've driven the piss out of the poor thing in the last 10 years putting more like 140K miles on it in all types of weather, track, etc. not to mention I have 2 boys that are now 9 and 6 so of course when they were younger they did their share of ruining the sail panel inserts lol. Here is a quick list of what I ordered yesterday:
- Reproduction Headliner, T-Top Shades, Sail Panels, Sun Visors (I'll be reproducing the air bag warning label)
- Hampton Vinyl GTA, Med. Dark Grey, Sold rear (leather is just too much work to keep up)
- Reproduction Complete Carpet Set, Passenger Area and Cargo
- NOS Center Console Lid
- NOS Automatic Shifter Plate w/Boot (Grey paint next to the gear indicator is worn slightly, this will be my 2nd NOS one of these)
- NOS Radio Pod Face Plate (just for the heck of it)
- NOS Radio Pod Assembly (mine is cracked where one of the radio bolts goes and the side vent is warping)
- GM Reproduction GTA emblems
- NOS front fender nose ground effects (yes expensive!)
- Spohn Tubular Rear Lower Control Arms
- Spohn Rear LCA Relocation Brackets
- Spohn Tubular Adjustable Panhard Bar
- Spohn Tubular Front Lower A-Arms (Spring Boxes)
- Spohn Tubular K-Member, SBC Motor Mounts, Extra Bracing
- Spohn Front end rebuild kit with inner/outter tie rods
I even managed to track down a factory "blank" 1992 throttle body plate. TPiS jacked mine for one of their shiny ones when I forgot to remove my original one before shipping my TB to be bored and they are very hard to find. They were used on mid-late 92 cars when GM ran out of the ones which said "Tuned Port Injection" on them. It is blank like the LT1 plates however the metal has a different petina to it and is noteably different in finish and color than an LT1 plate. Took me like 5 years to find it, got it in trade of my TPiS one from a white 1992 Trans Am. Awesome guy to have traded me even when I told him I was willing to pay for it!
I also have dozens of other NOS GM parts in my garage and already on the car. Also after the above mentioned chassis/suspension parts, there won't be anything I don't have in case there is any doubt :P
I am going to be repainting the entire car due to age and the new aero wing (not repro!) and front gfx, hence the new GTA emblems, 2 of mine have hairline cracks.
I'm going to be driving out to Lon to have my headlight motors rebuilt, my hatch motor mechanism fixed, new door hinges installed, and new power window motors installed and the tracks/guides redone.
Here is a short list of the remaning things I still need to buy:
- Outter Door Window Weatherstripping Seals
- Front and Rear Floor Mats
- Power Door Lock Actuators
- Factory Radiator Cap (Classic Industries)
- Spare Tire Air Canister (Classic Industries)
- Reproduction Gold GTA Wheels (Classic Industries)
- Wheel Lug Nut Plastic Caps (Classic Industries)
I'm still trying to figure out where to buy an NOS center console, rear cargo shade, and a WS6 gold center cap.
My goal is a totally brand new looking and better than stock performing car which looks 100% stock (except CD player, had a factory one but it got old) on the outside and inside. A total sleeper that will tear up the track (road racing). No detail is being over looked down to using the correct GM trim black around the T-Tops, door locks, hatch, in front of the fog/turn signals, etc.
When I am done in a few months I'll make a complete list of all the parts I bought over the last 2 years that made this all happen and take lots of pictures.

Re: Just ordered the last of my restoration parts!
Glad to hear you're working on it Alex!
FYI, you can get repro GM Restoration Parts center cap from a number of retailers. They are black with either gold or silver writing, and come with the metal retainers as well. These are not cheap sticker inserts either, I have purchased 2 sets over the years and currently have the black/gold WS6s on my yellow car, I am absolutely amazed that the center pieces are the factory pieces, even have the little alignment notch on them. The best part is the price. They are around $80 for the set, with the metal retainers and are 100% show worthy and in fact you could not tell that they were not purchased about 5 yrs ago from the dealer when you could still get them, the only difference is the price, the caps were $25 ea and the center pieces were something line $15 ea, don't even know about the metal retainers!
The CI wheels are decent enough for the price IMO, I also have them on my yellow car and they look just right, only way you can tell that they are not OEM is when you compare them to my GTA's wheels which are 2700 mile originals, there is a differnce in the shine of the lip. But for the price, they are well worth it.
The only one that I know that has had a NOS center console in the past few years has been Moderdaymuscle a few months back on ebay, closed at $400 something.
Good luck, and lets see some pics!

I'm still trying to figure out where to buy...a WS6 gold center cap."
I rebuilt my motors a long time ago. Pretty easy to do. Just takes a bit of time. I also rebuilt my hatch motor with the kit from Lon a few years ago. His kit was awesome and made the job really easy. That was about five years ago now, and haven't had any problems with it since. To bad our calendars didn't match up better. I just sold my NOS (not repro) GTA rims w/the black/gold "WS6" centercaps last winter (about the time you were thinking of selling your GTA) and I had tons of those damn lug caps. That sucks. Oh well, at least your keeping the GTA.
