I am having trouble locating 2 things for my almost complete restoration. The car is completely stock 88IROC owned by my Mom before she passed away. So I have a complete history of the car.
Anyways, the A/C is still cold and has never had anything done to it since it was new other than the occasional evac and recharge. Unfortunately last time I had it in for the A/C evac and recharge (3years ago) the guy tried to sell me a compressor and conversion to R-134. He stated the bearing are starting to put a drag on the system and would probably lock up on me at some point. Well its 3 years later maybe 1k miles, and its working fine, but I am in a position to find a new compressor, but I have been unable to locate a Harrison Compressor. I can find Delphi, four seasons etc, but that is not what I want. I want a Harrison. I also dont really want a rebuilt one I would prefer a new one. Anyone have any clues or ideas where I can look for one of these rascals? I have heard many horror stories about rebuilt compressors, but if I cant find anything should I just rebuild mine myself? I have never done it, but it cant be that difficult if I take my time, can it?
The second thing I am having problems with is the custom deluxe med grey leather seats, only the drivers seat is worn/cracking, the passenger seat the threads are actually dry rotting but the leather is good. For those who dont know the seats are half cloth and half leather with leather lumbar panels with Camaro imprinted into them. I asked at an upholstery shop about reusing my panel and was told it wouldnt work the leather is too old even though its fairly soft. Obviously I was told the material is no longer available and there wasnt much they could do without redoing both front seats with different material, which isnt what I want since they wont match the back seats which are MINT. I have found leather seats and cloth seats, but no custom deluxe ones. I have tried many of the places listed in thread here at TGO and have looked for used ones.
I would prefer new ones, but understand that may not be a realistic possibility. Any help or guidance/assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Also to give you an example the armrest on this Iroc are stock and I bought 2 sets here from guys but neither was the correct armrest. I found the correct one with plasic plug that covers the bolt hole where it attached by the door handle. Also the plasic is rounder at the door handle than most of the armrests. I can olny attribute this to the custom deluxe interior. Has anyone run into this issue with this particular interior?

I'm in the same boat with the harrison compressor. I have a local guy that said he will rebuild it carefully so as to not ruin the Harrison sticker. I went to the AC board and was told by Reid that I dn't want a rebuilt R4 compressor. There are newer R4 replacements that are better built, but they don't say Harrison. I haven't done it yet, but I want to see the new R4 and see if the dimensions are the same or similar. If so, I will carefully remove the Harrison sticker, have a shop duplicate it and put a new one on the new compressor.
Try SMS in Oregon for replacement seat fabric and leather. They seem to have everything. You can do a Google search for them.
Thanks for the tip on the upholstery. Looks like I may be able to get what I need for that project. SMS may even imprint "camaro" into the leather like it currently is on my seat for a nominal fee.
Scott I was talking to a guy today and he also agreed rebuilt/reman is not the way to go. He thinks all I need is a clutch assembly, but he said the old R4 compressors some pin breaks in them alot when trying to replace the clutch. So I really have to think about what I am going to do, since if it breaks I am up a creek without a paddle.
Anyone else have any ideas for a Harrison A/C compressor??
