Anyone else already noticed that the air dam appears to be missing on this camaro?
I´m a bit sensitive to that topic as this summer I found out why these cars have an air dam.
Will not affect the cars´ in game performance as for T10 it wil be pure cosmetical.
well my turn to post...
Finally! My wish came true 3rd gens in a actual video game! Personally i just can't wait to play this game...i have the original forza however i didn't get 2...just really wasn't into it due to xbox or the aftermarket companies that haven't made a decent wheel with a shifter that i wanted...i know playstation has one which is bada** from the aftermarket company called logitech....dunno if there is one avalible yet...hopefully so.
Anywho, I just thought of a idea, since this game is online capable, i thought that we can start a 3rdgen group online and race each other with different divisions like stock, mods, and such...more so i'm thinking of bringing back the Player's Challenge series only in the virtual world, even though it was originally a canadian racing series! However, wouldn't that be sweet?
All in due time when the game comes out, see ya all online and lets go racing!

Apart from the Microsoft steering wheel, which is about half decent and affordable, there is only one real alternative, which is the fanatec 911 turbo S wheel.
Mad Catz and most other aftermarket manufacturers do not include force feedback in their steering wheels.

yeah i went to the site for the fanatec wheel, looks awesome however the its very pricey and out of my league, i may end up just buying the microsoft wheel..
i wonder if the G25 wheel by logitech is gonna be compatible this time for FM3, because FM2 wasn't...but i'll research on that some more...
Anywho back to topic, Anyone else got anymore screen shots of our lovely 3rdgens? Interior shots of the GTA? Any damage pics avalible? (at least its virtual reality and not real, cuz heavens forbids it would happen in real life!!)
From what Ive heard, Logitech wasnt going to release a wheel comparable to the G25 for the Xbox. And its really a shame, because that seems to be a quality wheel. Ive read up on the M$ wheel, and it sounds like you have to tear it apart and mod it before its even reasonably good. Bearing mods and pedal mods... eh.
That fanatec wheel is outrageous price wise...but really, its one of the best right now. Since I want to build a race chair, yes Im a geek, Im thinking about getting on the wait list and getting one. With the advance in in-game physics, plying with the normal controller is just a pain in the butt. You really need force feedback and a proper steering wheel. With pedals. And the 911 wheel has a clutch...which Forza 3 supports THATS what I want. Clutch, shifter, and a nice quality set up. Ill pay...
I think the thirdgen screen shots look great. I like how they included interior details...right down to the cig lighter not being turned right side up. A LOT of work went into this game. If the handling and physics are as good as they say they are in the final copy...it should be a nice step up from F2. We'll see on Oct 27th!!!

you know what would be kool...if we found someone who knows there computer stuff and can mod the game for us big time domestic car nutz and make it so you can change like popluar cams and carbs, intakes, heads, etc etc so we can test and tune without paying thousands of dollars lol find what we want and build it...or just play around with different setups...for those of us that just cant afford thousands of dollars in parts
There's three swaps you can do in the game 5th gen camaro engine, the c6 zr1 engine, and the stock car engine. For anybody else when you get the game go ahead and swap in the zr1 engine, I went with twin turbos on it and it makes the most hp out of the three.
So there's no LS1/LS6 option for the thirdgens? Thats a bummer. I was hoping to set a car up as close to mine as possible. OH well...5th gen Camaro motor is close enough I guess.
I was hoping for the ls1 swap also but no such luck. I haven't messed with the gta at all yet and haven't even looked for it. I'll check it out tonight and see if there are some different swaps for it, maybe the gto ls engine? We'll see.

This is the only reason an xbox 360 is going on the xmas wish list.
Here's a couple of youtube vids I found: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yp5METKwBe4
I'm surprised you can even see the 5.7 TPI decal on the rear bumper
I understand your point there but the parts selection is to general to be a good simulation unless somebody could mod it like you said.
i know thats why i said what i said lol...someone would have to mod the game in order for it to work...its the thought...if someone would do it...it would be so awesome...to play a racing game that we can change cams heads turbos superchargers etc etc and it be super realistic...it would take a lot of time cooperation with company's and skills in the field to program the game to do that
I kind wish that Forza 3 had a 70-72 camaro in it. I feel that Forza always misses some of the more popular cars. I'm not trashin' Forza 3 or anything. Its just something that can be in the next on is all.

PS 3 prices have come down alot though. I think bc they were getting killed by xbox and wii. My buddy payed 500 for the 80 gig that plays ps2 games. now you can get one for 300. I agree if that list for gt5 is accurate that game is still a few years away. Also remeber more car can be added to forza. gotta love DLC

Camaro LM Edition ('01)

Of course that does not sum up the total of cars of those two brands, but at least the confirmed F-body cars.
That´s 0 third gen F-bodies.
Still, you can expect the prototype (Camaro IROC-Z Concept ('88)) from GT4 to make an appearance in GT5 but so far the list of confirmed cars only holds the US cars available in GT4 as well, plus or minus the odd car.
My copy of Forza 3 was dispatched early this morning so I might, with a little luck and evasive action for UK post strikes, get it by this friday.
Holy crap... I FINALLY, after years of owning the 360, hooked it up to the internet. Wow. So many upgrades to the machine. Got a couple free months of Live Gold Membership. Downloaded the Forza 3 demo....along with some others. Cant believe I didnt do this sooner!!
The demo looks great. The cars seem to handle a little better than in previous versions. I still think its limited by the game controller.
So I pulled the trigger on a Fanatec 911 Turbo S wheel and pedal set. Bummer is I have to wait until late November, early December for it to ship. Oh well...it'll be winter then and plenty of time to stay inside and goof around. Yes its a little pricey. But for the money, I think its the best right now. Yes I feel a little like a dork, especially because Im going to build a racing seat using a spare 4th gen bucket I have haha.
I played the demo and I like the manual with the clutch feature. I hope I can paint the IROC to look like my vert(Black top). I can hardly wait its about time a good game had the third gens.

they have not confirmed any cars yet...nothing on there website right now its all rumor and bs ppl are just talking...like the list that supposedly its going to have 10000 cars...yeah right..graphics are good in gt series but never cared for anything else in it...cars dont feel right driving around...and the game well its basically the same as the pgr series but pgr was better cuz they gave you some room to customize tracks in pgr3 and play different game styles...plus ps3's are seriously overrated and overpriced

I'm 99% sure you can with the custom vinyl graphics i gave my 02 SS (In Forza 2) black pillars on the hugger orange
The list is part of the list available in the PSP version of Gran Turismo.
The website did confirm that all cars in the PSP version will be in GT5, and that cars unlocked and owned in the PSP version can e transferred to your PS3 garage.
I don't understand why they brag so much about the 400 cars in forza 3? I just finally collected almost every single car today (including downloadable content and exclusives) without cheating and there's 346 + the 3 auction cars i couldn't get, not that big of a difference.
Eh what? It's $300 now. It's def not overpriced at all.
thats how much an xbox 360 when it first came out...and it droped in price pretty fast...its still 100 bucks more then the 360 and 50 more then a wii...its still overpriced...only thing its got other two dont is a blue ray player and unreliable online...if i want a blue ray player id buy one separate from a system so your not putting wear on the system...but im not cuz blue rays are over rated...an hd up-covererter does just as good and its way cheaper getting regular movies then blue rays...i know this is my opinion but there are facts about it as well...
what you cant put an ls1 in a iroc...that dont make any sense why not...
OK- so have the game and enjoying virtual 3rd Gens for the first time since the concept in GT4 and previously in Need For Speed 2 as a mod.
They look fantastic in Forza, the IROC annoyingly has 15" wheels and you can't change the size or the stripe colours. The GTA looks awesome and it is always cool taking on newer machinery on the race track.
I hope some talented artists mod some cars and put them in their showrooms for sale. I want a white/gold IROC with license plates etc..
I LOVE THIS GAME

So the wheels stay the same size even for aftermarket?
I just hope you can put some tire on the back of them. If it limits to a 275 or some small crap like that i am going to be mad.
I hope you can play with the D pad for steering instead of the joy stick, that is how i race. It would not let me change ANY controller settings in the options, but that was a demo.
Thanks for the link...
love the interior pic shot, however i just noticed..the gta starts out as a auto?? Is it possible to have the gta equipped with a stick and the 5.0L instead in stock trim?! Otherwise that would stink!
Reading the description, i can see it being a 15 sec car for an 87 model with auto...
however i guess with the "supposed" increase hp in '89, my gta (which is pretty much stock) with a 350/auto had a best et. time at 14.4 sec.. i can only hope a gta in manual will have a lower et time....but i shouldn't complain...i'm just so happy to see one of these babies in a game!

The difference in performance between the GTA and the IROC let´s me guess that the GTA is a 305 cid and the IROC a 350 cid.
I will most likely not get the game myself before monday after all. My parcel got caught up in the UK postal strike going on there at the moment.
The interior shows an automatic transmission, which means 4 gears and nothing more then that. In Forza you could make it a 4 speed manual. Upgrade to at least a 6 speed manual/auto(depending on difficulty settings rather then parts used) is possible with the pro tranny upgrade. Not sure if you could opt for a 5 speed though. Forza 2 at least only offered stock, stock with short throw kit (great for auto ), stock with straight cut gears and short throw but still the original number of gears and pro which is 6 gears.
I got the game, the GTA has a 350 but I am assuming it's a TBI or something, it's only rated at 225hp or something. I have an LS7 in mine and it tops out at about 249 MPH lol. I am trying to squeeze a few more mph out of it. You can put cowl hoods on both the trans am and camaro. The trans am has a '10 Camaro motor swap, the LS7 swap, and the LS9 swap. The 2nd gen has a TPI swap from the IROC which I thought was cool.
