Ok well to us United States guys the game comes out tomorrow. I have my limited edition pre-ordered for awhile now and im going to be waiting for it!. Im very excited.
Just to let you know after playing the demo there is a manual with clutch feature meaning you can shift like you do in real life. Also including doing the heal-and-toe technique coming into a corner so you dont go out sideways. Problem was finding a wheel with a clutch and shifter. I FOUND ONE!

Im thinking about building one of these...I have a racing seat in storage. I wouldnt make it with the screens but I would have a chair and wheel and shifter and pedals just like a car would be set up tho. Ill let you guys know if and what I end up doing. Im 19 so racing/shooting games are on the top of my list of fun things to do. (plus it keeps me off the streets and legal...if I crash i can press reboot lol)

Mine is on its way! Ill have it when I get home today. My fanatec wheel wont be shipped until late november early december. There is quite a wait for those, and they are limited editions. So if you want the best wheel for the 360 with a clutch...shell out the cash and get one on order!
Im going to build a racing seat while I wait for the wheel. Im just not sure how I want to go about it. It needs to look good, because I have no where to store it. So it'll be sitting over in the corner of my apt when not in use. Either that, or it has to break down easily to hide under the bed or something. Ive got plenty of time to work something out.

Lol I've been playing the game for the last week (not saying how I pulled that one off) but lets just say an L98 bored to a 6.2 and a twin turbo setup at 18 psi makes for a wicked 780hp 880tq monster! In the races I just have to get it to 50 and put it in 4th gear and just run that gear the whole race or else she cuts lose. And I have the race grip tires to.... Already painted mine the way my real one is and added crager rims.
Is it just me are did they really mess up the 4th gen T/A and Camaro? Wasn't aware that the auto's had 5 gears? (they don't but it is a vaild gripe since the game is supposed to be super realistic )
Other than that and the crappy way they do drag racing the game is fun.

I hate how the GTA's acceleration is so lack luster. A decent L98 should be busting out the 1/4 mile about 95mph.
Not whining, just happy the cars made it to the game, but wouldn't it be sweet if you could get the GM body and wing kits so you could change the body/wing kit from an IROC to a 91-92 Z28, and same for T/As, or even strip the GFX off all together like a Formula?
I have an old Tokyo racer game for the Sega dreramcast that had an 82-83 Firebird in it w/ a 4 cyl. engine, the V8 wasn't even optional... That was I believe the only other game I've seen w/ a 3rd gen. (other than the concept IROC in the old GT games).

Honestly though I hate the wheel with Forza. I have a MS Wireless wheel and there isn't enough force to make it feel good. I also own a Logitech G25 for my PC and PC racing with a wheel at least is far more fun. But I lurve Forza still.
heya all, i just my copy of fm3, i was at first dissapointed because i didn't reserve the special edition..however when i went there i asked if it was possible if they have any s.e. left..and they did! So i shelled out the extra cash and got it..now i'm on my way to vr world of racing...first car i'm getting..what else my gta baby!...
As for racing online, prob. not tonight for i'm gonna study this game and tracks for awhile...
I'm planning on setting up a recreation of the player challange series or a scca type style racing format so us thirdgenners can race against each other online...I'll keep ya all posted..

man i want that game sooo bad. but i dont have a xbox360. i have regular xbox and forza 1, which is the worlds greatest game ever!!!!lol anyone know how much a 360 would cost?and how much forza 3 cost?
I got mine yesterday and had a few minutes to mess with it. The exterior detailing of the GTA is AMAZING. The only gripe I have is the tail lights. They made the inside lenses correctly, but the grid is too transparent. You can kind of see it...but it needs to be darker. Bummer, because otherwise its perfect. Interior is pretty good...just way more computer graphicish. Im still trying to figure out how to look around in the interior like you are sitting there....
Did everyone that got theirs in the store get the XBOX Live Game Add-on card inside the box? For the extra cars and tracks?
I like the fact that they listed the 93 svt with it's true displacement of 4.9L. It's also stupid that you can't change stock size wheels or paint the calipers like the last game.
This game is sick. I took some pics while playing the game on my 100" theater screen. You can see how big the car is by looking at the green power button on the x-box. I got the car to look some what like mine in real life. Its almost life size

I have all the mods i can get for that bad boy. Now just trying to tune it for the 1/4 mile right now.
We should get a thirdgen.org group going on. Will make a little forza 3 crew with all our third gens. And well have race nights. Where we run each other and other groups. Maybe we can find some mustang groups to spank. Come to think of it. Like an added car club feature would have been nice. But someone Good at decals can make us a logo to throw on our cars. Idk maybe something fun to do. Anyone else interested let me know.

His car spanked my GTA in the corners put he couldnt touch the 184mph i could do in the straights lol
i bought an IROC and motor swapped it to the nascar engine... needless to say, the car doesnt get traction until the middle of 3rd... very hard to drag race.
I've been looking forward to playing this game for some time now. Too bad the 360 gave me the ring out of warranty. Maybe santa will be good to me....

Why dont you just fix it? You're just getting that red ring of death thing right? There are lots of write ups and videos on how to do it.. Doesnt look too difficult.
whats the ring of death??? i just bidded on an xbox 360 on ebay just a min ago so i could play this game. are there just lemons?
When the 360 came out like 30% of them were lemons but Microsoft fixed the problem on the newer ones. All 360's come with a 3 year warranty on the 3rings problem.

Gotcha... Bummer. Ive been lucky so far...knock on wood. Im thinking about doing some of the cooling upgrades just to try to prevent it. I think Im out of warrenty anyway..
Just a screen shot of my car. As close to my blue as I could get. Couldnt make the silver GFX though...anyone know how? LS1, cam, intake, Eibach stage 2 or whatever it is. Closest things I could find to the 4th gen WS6 wheels.
Im a little disappointed in the performance...as many of us are. It seems very lack luster compared to what I know my car will do...and the numbers for the game car are higher. I know I know..its just a game haha. Im actually hoping its easier to control with the wheel and pedals. Easier to modulate the gas and brake etc. Also...when Im doing 160+, the interior speedometer only goes up to 120. I ran out of money so I still need to do trans, clutch, brake and some other upgrades to make it closer to my real car. SO MUCH FUN THOUGH!!!

Haha ive been rockin out on this game. IM UP FOR A THIRDGEN ONLINE WAR! Let me know what time it will be and id love to race. C class would be perfect. My problem is I just cant get the car tuned right. If i just tap the gas it spins. In the straight away if im in second even at 60mph nope sry no traction. I even have the wheel too. Its a really fun game tho. Ive already completely done 2 gta's and a new gto the new camaro and a buick gnx. Ive played alot! lol.
Ive unlocked the sniper achievment for buying a car under cost of a new one on the auction house and also the auctionier achievement for auctioning off a car. Thats how ive gotten so much money. I auctioned off all the cars I didnt want/need in my garage and also ive snagged alot of crappy small cars for under new cost and auctioned them off and they go for like 10,000 credits!. People are crazy with that auctioning thing. Idk what the deal is. As soon as it goes close to what buying a new one is I back out. These people are bidding twice and three times what it would be to just go buy one(mind you these are all stock cars with just paintjobs or w/e)
One thing that made me mad was that the exhaust options dont change the sound of the car. When i first did the ls1 swap in the first car it sounded great with stock exhaust so i did the full race one hoping to hear what I normally would hear out of a headers no cats big pipe ls1 but nope just the same sound. I was like WTF! It does boost the hp and tq but i was expecting a difference in sound at least!
Either way i love this game.
I REALLY NEED HELP WITH THE TUNING THO. I just cant hook up no matter what tune i do! In the previews i saw that car doing a wheelie and I got all excited for the drag mode. Then i find out i end up spinning all the way through the 1/4 and i get the same time my fricken v6 gets! Either they need to fix this with a new patch update or im just a really bad tuner. Another thing I wish the game had was more of a feel for the weight of the car. Dont get me wrong i think the cars respond pretty darn close to what they do in real life but you just dont have the sense of weight of the car.

I just cannot get the damn thing to shut down going into the corners sometimes. I have upgraded everything, but it doesnt want to stop that well. I still win every race, but the limited classes like the C class i am trying to win, MAN it is not easy. I need to fix the understeer in the corners while coming in. I like the bit of over steer accelerating though. It is just right for me.
About the speedometer. It seems they calibrated the speedo so that the speedo pegs itself, at the maximum speed of the car, regardless of how the speedo marked.
Aka, the GTA's stops at 140. My GTA has the ZR1 motor and nearly all the mods, tops out at about 240. But when I peg it at 240 the speedo reaches 140mph.
Kind of annoying as the interior gauges are useless for actually using them in a race. Usually the numbers are too small to read accurately and quickly. The HUD is easier.
Also, anyone notice that regardless of the Speedo being set to digital or analog, it shows as digital?

Def easier to read using the HUD. However, atleast on my TV, running the incar cam with gauges shows the numbers really good. Even on the thirdgen dash with those tiny numbers. My tv is 42", which might help i guess. I really want to use the interior cam when I start using a wheel and pedals. I just feel like it'll be a neat experience.
Too bad, as someone else mentioned, you cant modify the interior. Autometer gauges...shift lights, etc.

Hey, Forza is an Xbox only brand, Gran Turismo is a PS3 brand, at least you can drive a third gen in one of them. I don't have either systems. I put too much money into my car and gas to be able to by stuff like that.

I can help you, what's your gamertag? And ya people are going crazy for the sniper achievement, I sold a stock Iroc with stock decals and tint for 54,000 CR (sells for 6,000 CR) And then bought another iroc without the stock graphics.
I'm addicted to the game, lvl 27 just bought an 87' T/A can't wait to finish moddin that. The first car i bought was the 90' IRoc though, can't go wrong there. fun game non the less. Especially if you get used to us "LB" for the clutch.
im having a horrible time trying to get ANY of my cars to hook up for drag racing. It seems nearly impossible to get them to squat and take off. I have a 800hp Ram SRT-10 and it wont hook at all... can only manage a 12.46 1/4.
I have tried 15psi in the rear tires, rear suspension all soft, but it just wont hook.. Its a stock displacement motor with a race turbo on it. Makes a pretty awesome sound between gears lol.
My camaro and GTA are not going to be running on the drag strip, there is no possible way to get either of them to launch without pedaling through 3rd gear.
