Sweet!!! How'd you make the bottom silver?? Is there any way I can use that paint sceme with my mods that i already have in the solid blue one?
Ill friend you on the network...but Ill warn you. I have NO idea how to use it haha. I just signed up for live a bit ago, and dont know how any of that stuff works.
Thanks!

im sure its just a nice use of the stripes that are available on the game..
I would like to be able to change the color of my GFX on my TA as well. My actual car is dark red with grey GFX. It looks a little "off" with the whole car one color unless its painted black or white.
I tried finding normal stripes...but even ones that I found that might work, I couldnt get them positioned on the bottom. Im sure its just a matter of knowing how to use the program. Im going to play with it after work some more. Ide like to make my spoiler black too. Haha its sad that thats how Ill spend my friday night. Im sick though, so I probably should save my energy for the halloween parties on saturday.
Now I have something to look forward to when I get home! If I cant wrench on the real car...Ill wrench on the fake one!
I dont know if can send it to you unlocked. If I can I will, but idk. If I cant and we are are both on later you could send me the LS1 car, and Ill send it back with the paint job. If the colors not right you can tell me which one it is and Ill fix it for you. I can make the spoiler black too. Im gonna go make a black GTA with same pinstriping and plate as my GTA in real life..
OK. Like i said...I have no clue how all that works. Im actually going to give it a try myself when I get home. I think I just didnt pay enough attention to the livery editor when I was messing with it. Im assuming to make the silver GFX its just a matter of making a vinyl or sticker for the bottom... Or there might just be a free hand paint option. Ide kind of like to figure it out, so I can make a few other custom cars.
but Ill friend you anyway haha...I have no XBOX friends. haha.

ok thats cool, If you need some help later just ask. im not a pro at the livery editor yet, but I can make stuff like you see in the picture. Id like some thirdgen buddies to race around with too.
Thanks for the gift car! I ended up playing with the editor and got good results. I took another snapshot...I think Im closer than my first try. Black spoiler and all...couldnt make it semigloss though.
I made a design with T-tops too. Somehow I accidentally uploaded it to the storefront for sale haha...but it didnt stick to the car. Didnt really look that great anyway. Pretty hack...
J.
EDIT: Heres the T-top design I whipped up. Im going to redo it... When you play from the outside camera, it actually doesnt look too bad. If you try to take close up pics or whatever it looks shady. Too bad you cant edit the 3d model of the car...

here's my attempt in forza...i made my own version of a player's challenge series car. It's a basic design style but it took me like 3 hours to make this and being it was my first attempt at making a designer's car, i thought it came out pretty cool...probably just need some more decals and then some. I also labeled my car with a few "Thirdgen.org" decals to get the word out on the site....no need to thank me boyzz! I'm just happy to be a member! I've haven't done much for racing online yet, but those who would like to race in stock trim, i'll be avalible from time to time. Just pm me here or look up my gamer's tag, which is RazorRC3 and pm me there...
Again, I'm interested to see if people who would like to group up online and come up with a player's challenge series format..although i would like to make a few "rule changes" because these cars in "vr" stock trim are pretty bad to drive around, especially the handling on these cars! Making fine tune adjustments with the suspension is probably the only thing i would change other then gearing...but i'm brainstorming this for now...
All these pictures are making me want to get the game. Just more money I should be spending on the car itself...although if they had the 91-92 Birds i'd have already gotten the game.

you can get regular stripes by going into primitive shapes and using the square, then just make it as narrow as you like and extend it the length of the car.
here's one of my creation. an 82 indy, you can get it in the storefront for 1000
Yup I figured things out well enough to make my GFX and T-tops and what not.
Does anyone know if you can mirror one design from one side to the other. For instance, I tried using the checkered flag vinyl, and wanted an opposite side. The design was on the hood, so it was very obvious they were the same. Couldnt figure out how to flip it.
3rdGenSuperman: Where did you go to take that picture? The only place Ive been able to get a snapshot is during gameplay through the pause menu. That looks like a snapshot from the display window.
this game is freakin awsome. i had to go buy a 360 off craigslist, then the game at walmart on thurs. i had the most fun ever on forza 1 for regular xbox, so i just HAD to play 3 on xbox 360. that was money well spent. i couldnt believe i was actually able to match my real camaros paint job on this game. chameleon pink/green pearl white is my real cars color, so i thought id just have to deal with plain white on a video game lol. but i dont
and it seems as if this forza game kind of revolves around or is based on xbox live. and i dont have xbox live unfortunatly. so im prolly missing out on alot of stuff. i heard you can sell your cars to other people and stuff. and im an EXPERT on the paint and viynal, so i could turn some sick designs for game credits.
if it's on the right or left side, once you get finished with one side got to the other side and press A on the first empty layer, and it should say paste all vinyls from right/left side and it will put it on
You can get that photo by going to my cars, then press A on which car you want and at the bottom of the options is a 'take photo of car'button
Justin I saw your car for sale on the storefront! lmao! I saw it and was like wow that looks awfully familiar :P Me and a bud of mine made some very detailed t-tops. They are easy to make on the Camaro but a bitch on the T/A because of the curve on the roof. I will try and upload them to the storefront soon. GT is Needls.
Huh... Will it actually mirror the vinyl from one side to the other? Im still not sure how you'd mirror something from one side of the hood to the other. Ill have to play with it after work. I learn something new every time I play the game so who knows. haha. I just learned how to do proper, quick, rev-matched downshifts using the clutch. That gets really fun.
anyone see the intro video?? did you see that challenger do a wheelie on the drag racing mode? how the hell do you get one to do that? iv mastered the suspension, gearing, and tire pressure on forza 1 with the corvette stingray and got it to hop the wheels off the ground, but this game seems a bit differant because you cant hook up on the launch in drag race mode.
and i cant believe they took out my two favorite cars of all time, the lingenfelter 427 corvette, and hennessy 800 tt viper. those were the sexy ones. and they didnt put the chrysler ME412 either. but they put in some other great cars in place of them. they even have lamborghini now lol
By now the UK Royal mail finaly got their stuff sorted and managed to ship the game to my door. I´ve been playing for a few days now and must say that I´m impressed a little. Game looks awesome and the cars feel good.
Not having the Hennesey Viper (got the ACR Viper in return) or the Lingenfelter Corvette (no real direct replacement here) in my opinion is a fair trade for having 2nd gen and 3rd gen F-bodies, stock cars, V8 supercars and DTM cars in the game.
One change I made right away is setting up the cockpit view properly. In the multiscreen setup I adjusted the angle to 62 degrees which looks about ok for an ordinary view from inside a car. From there on I am now working on some 3rd gens in different P.I. classes and tunes.
Anyone found out how to make the cars stick already?

yeah but you cant get the front bumper cover or wing on the acr viper that the hennessy had. anyways, wut do u mean by stick yet? manual tranny?

With stick I mean have some measure of traction off the line. I managed to set up a bunch of camaros ranging from performance classes D up to A (have not yet applied racing slicks up to this point) with competitive tunes. I think they work best in classes C and B, but I´m not quite unhappy with the camaro in A class as either.
I am honestly very impressed by the cockpit view in this game. Previously I never used bumpercam (because I think it is the most horrible experience in racing games) and never really liked looking down the hood (imagine being strapped to the front of your car. I never liked that idea) but cockpitview in most games was hardly usable. In Forza I tried cockpit view, adjusted the view angle to 62° and never eve switched back to another viewpoint. Even when the rear skids cockpit view gives you the feeling on how to respond and get the car back under control.
Who else has about 6x 1990 camaros and/or 6x 1987 GTA´s in their garage? I´m so hapy with some of the tunes and setups I found for these cars that I thought it´d be a shame to modify it so I started another copy of the same car instead.
With the engine options and stock equipmet available I found the GTA to launch from a standing start better, but the IROC to achieve higher top speeds. I have not been able to invert those results though, which means that the GTA´s end up being tuned for lower speed tracks relying on acceleration and the IROCs for higher speed tracks with more intermediate speed cornering involved.
In Forza I tried cockpit view, adjusted the view angle to 62° and never eve switched back to another viewpoint.
Ive seen you mention this a couple times...where are you adjusting the "view angle"??
I almost always run in bumper cam. Its what Ive used since the first need for speed came out on the PC. I like it because the car goes where you are looking...hard to explain I guess.
But... I really like the cockpit view in Forza. The best Ive seen in video games. Im also playing on a bigger TV than usual...so Im sure that helps. When I get my wheel and pedals, Ill probably try to play in cockpit view more.
i too want to know how do you adjust the view point in the cockpit? dunno where to change that..haven't been able to play forza lately...but i will tonight!

I have recieved a good amount of friends requests and got the pleasure to race with a few of you so far. Today for fun I tackled the nurburgring with my iroc. its a light R3 class, basically stock zr1 swap with TT upgrade, and full decked out suspension. I tweaked out a 7:59:339 lap.
anyone wanna challenge my time?

My problem with bumpercam is not having an engine in front of me. It really creeps me out. In real life I have the same issue in compact vans or trucks.
Anyways, setting up the camera angle of view can be done by performing following few steps
-go into the forza 3 main menu
-go to ´my profile´
-select ´multiscreen´
-switch ´multiscreen´ mode to ´on´. This will do nothing in itself when only having one screen connected so no worries
-adjust the ´degrees between screens´ value from te default 45° to (I prefer 62°) a higher value.

The link shows a video of someone adjusting his angle all the way to maximum, which is 90°. Looks pretty odd at such a large angle of view but as I mentioned, 62° works perfect for me. You might prefer a wider or narrower angle. It takes some trying out to find out what works best for you, but for me it is a huge improvement over the default 45° angle.
@ Traviz, I´ll see what I can do. 7.59 eh, best I managed so far was in one of the B or C class races, a 9 minute something.

Thanks but I have several license plates I can use but for some reason they go totally transparent when you try and place them over the standard mounting point you can't see it.
It´s hardly readable. I ran 2 laps before going to work this morning. Set up the car and managed a 07.47.607 in a mid range R3 1990 IROC Z on the 2nd lap.
I tried the ZR1 engine as you suggested but did not manage a lap faster then 07.50.xxx because the car just tends to break out on the rear axle in a quite horrible fashion so I swapped the corvette engine for the stock car engine.
It has less power. You can get far more power and torque with the ZR1 engine, and it´s lighter then the stock car engine as well, but I like the power curve on the stock car engine better. It allows more flexible adjustment on the gears without spinning out every second corner. It also has one other distinct advantage, which is weight distribution. 1% made a lot of difference in the suspension tune I tried.
I could maybe shave off a further 5-7 seconds going for a 07.40 flat if I gave it a few more tries. Will not quite manage to invest more time in the next few days though, so I might come back on this during the next weekend
@ ZZ42Fast, I have not tried licence plates yet but in the previous Forza game you could not apply vinyls to black plastic parts on the cars, like the licence plate mounts on the IROC and GTA. ou can move them ´behind´ the black parts and the layer only becomes visible again after you move it out from underneath the black part.

well iv never heard of any pre-made type plates or anything. iv ALWAYS made my plates, or anything of that matter, all from scratch. takes skill, and a lil time. but if your good with the viynal and painting like me, then making a plate from scratch shouldnt be a problem. just make sure its the TOP layer if you already have something on that area of the car.
I do not have pictures from the first lap time, but I remember but from what I remember I was somewhere around 07.52 or 07.54. I´ll give it a try later today and make a picture of the lap time. With the turbo tune I wasn´t as quick. Must have been a 08.02 because I made a good 13 seconds improvement on the second lap.
I´m phoographing progress but will only post a picture when satisfied.
Due to driver error and rear tires heating up to much during at the start of the last third of the track (the 7 corners before the second and last inclined corner) I keep losing a few seconds on every lap.
I left some 5 seconds across the lap due to driver error mainly.
I use the stock car engine and figured out that when keeping it stock the lower power output allows me to drive around the ring about 5 seconds faster again.
Last lap was a 07.53.316, best lap so far (from a standing start of course, so after restarting for a new run and tweaking tyre pressure and rear suspension) was a 07.52.127 (photographed the result on that one).
I just got the limited edition as a birthday present, awesome! I've only done about 6 races, but I'm loving this game. I just ran a quick race down Sebring Intl. which is pretty sweet, since I live down the street from the real life track, which I have only had the immense pleasure of blasting down the runway at 70mph in my IROC to deliver pizza to the racing school, now I get to blast around the whole track at 120mph! I got a GTA for my first car, tryin to make it look like and early MACHO T/A, I think it's come out alright so far, but I have to figure out how to upload pics from the game, so when I figure that out, I'll post em. BACK TO THE RACES!
Well thank you, Solitaire. No, I don't think the bumps are that radical on the actual track, but then again, I never really paid attention to them, my girlfriend says they are... Anyway, here is my more or less complete MR MSE Trans Am.
