Trans am Rim question

So im at work and looking for a quick answer, i searched but i guess im not using the right keywords.

My rim is bent and im in need of a new one, i just had tires put on my car and told them to check for front and rear specific rims, but i personally do not know. I need a new rim and was wondering if Trans Am rims have different offsets like some iroc wheels had. My car is an 87 and as far as i know everything is original to the car.

Re: Trans am Rim question

Trans Am wheels have 5.25 backspace for the front, and the Rears are 4.75..

I think the offset may be a little different, but they will bolt right up and not rub at all. all 3rd gen wheels are interchangeable.

Re: Trans am Rim question

I know that most people like putting front wheels on the back, because they have a nicer lip and you can rotate your tires as well.

Re: Trans am Rim question

before you go pulling the rims back off..Do you have 15" or 16" wheels? The 15" were not specific to front or rear. The 16" were specific

Yeah, That is a very good Idea. My buddies 87 Trans Am has 15's.

Re: Trans am Rim question

The only thing is a Front will fit on the rear all day long, the rears will not fit on the front.

I never considered that the 15" rims were the same on all 4 corners... something to look up.
