Funny post

I'm not the best on birds...is that an 1986 GTA, or a 88/89 GTA as someone else questioned?

Re: Old Nascar Pace Car

It was the 86 Talladega winston 500, its just a high optioned Trans Am. Not a GTA. GTA came in 87, it is pretty hard looking at the car, but its just a regular Trans Am.

Re: Old Nascar Pace Car

It had a Black aero Spoiler... 1985 & 1986 only, and the GTA was introduced in 1987. I have an original order slip from 1986 that shows that a 1986 GTA was orderable, but not deliverable.

Re: Old Nascar Pace Car

It probably had the 305 from 1985 not 1986, or at least a hotter cam... Considering that Winston cup has a pace lap of about 55mph, they could have easily used any TPI car for that...

Re: Old Nascar Pace Car

That's pretty funny. I saw it again this past week on SPEED's "This Week In NASCAR" and DVR'ed it. Looked like an '86 T/A to me.

I wonder if that guy's hair ever grew back in that patch of scalp that they undoubtedly ripped the hair out of when they hauled him unceremoniously from the driver's seat?
