I have done a search but find no posts relating to exterior colors of the early Trans Ams. From board images as well as Google images, I have found red, white, and black. Were there any others? I can find a color chip sheet of any year Pontiac but that doesn't help when looking specifically at Firebirds. Also, it would seem that interior colors were limited to charcoal and saddle. Am I wrong or were there others?
In the San Diego area I have seen one '83 TA that is white with a saddle interior. This is a fully optioned car with T-Tops and a crossfire 305 with automatic. I'm not really partial to white or black cars and was hoping there might be a few more choices other than what I've already mentioned.

My old 83 was originally brown, with brown interior. It was not a T/A, just a factory V8 firebird, with power windows/locks. It also had special seats - I forget the name of them, but they had knobs on them to adjust lumbar and side bolster support.

If '82 and '83 were the same as '84, then there weren't a whole lot of colors to choose from. I have never seen a Dk Royal Blue Metallic T/A. I would imagine that the white, black, and red were the most popular choices. If the dealerships were ordering the cars, then those colors would probably move off the floor quicker. It makes finding an early Third Gen that much harder. I'm either going to have to learn to like a "camel" interior or continue looking.
I actually prefer the camel tan interior. After having the poo-brown interior in my last thirdgen, I'd take almost anything over that. Also, the tan was a pretty common color, so it makes finding replacement parts easier. I never had any luck trying to find replacement brown interior parts.
And simo, yes those are the seats I had, I knew I had seen the name somewhere. Mine were in terrible shape, so they wound up getting tossed. The little pull-out knee support was nice though, especially for long drives.

It seems like the light Pallex fabric they used, especially with the Light Sand Gray interior, was particularly weak. The darker sections on my seats are in great shape, a bit worn of course but there is not a single hole while the lighter areas are totally shot. I can tear it without any force.

Yeah, I had the same problem. The darker brown on the sides was in alright shape, but the lighter brown fabric in the middle areas was absolutely shot, exposing the foam underneath.

And I have a Dark Sand Grey Metallic car.....oddly it seems on mine the light gray portion of the fabric is holding up better than the darker parts. Sorry to bust a hole in your theory, Raptor.
I'm not sure, but from the pictures I have, the light sections in the Charcoal interior is a different color from the fabric used in the Light Sand Gray interior which has a bit of a yellow/greenish tint in it.
