Well the time has come I finally decided to sell my Hurst Dual gate shifter it has been sitting for a long time now. I haven't had a chance in the last couple years to do anything with my vert and decided last year to swap the 700r4 and 406 sbc that is in my car to a 502 bbc and turbo 400 so this shifter won't work anyway but I kept it around thinking I would buy another Camaro sometime and wouldn't be able to find one again (which may end up being true) but I could use the money I am not hurting for money by any means but I could use it to pay off some bills. I have had a few people agree to my asking price of $350 already and have notified one person that I actually decided to sell it earlier today so he has first dibs but I haven't heard anything from him yet. So I figured I would put it out here. I know the asking price is high but these aren't made anymore and more than likely never will be again. This was the coolest shifter I have seen for our cars. There is no damage and the ash tray is already attached so that was $50 I had to pay for a shifter plate with all the corners still there and I also paid another $60 for the better Hurst 50th anniversary shifter ball that comes with it. The stock one is a joke anyway. I am giving riphc06 a day or two to respond and then it is up for grabs. I can provide pics I will more than likely post them on here but feel free to e-mail me for them. Sorry for the long post but that is the whole story on it.
It may be sold. riphc06 said to consider it sold after he sees pics but I will keep you in mind in case it falls through for some reason. If he gets it for sure I will post it.
I have a question because I've never seen that before. does it actually change how the trans operates if put in the right side of the shiffter. Not sure how that would be possable but you never know. Or is this mostly just for looks.
it does not change the way the trans operates it simply has the race inspired manual shifting side so instead of putting it in drive like a normal shifter, you use the right side and start from 1st gear and shift yourself you can use it like the regular shifter though with no problems. It is mostly looks though and looks way better in my opinion than all the other shifters I have seen other than stock one or if you mainly race a drag style shifter with a lever per gear.
If I understood right it is a ratchet shifter in the right side and a regulare one in the left. And no it would not allow wot shifts into 4th or change any operating charicteristics in the trans as it is just a shifter assembly. But a very cool looking one. One more question I was wondering Was this a option available from the factory.
nope Hurst made these for a while and then discontinued them. They were only made for the Camaros if you got a different top plate made I think you could make it work in a trans am or firebird. and yes that is correct the right side is a ratchet shifter. also it won't let it shift into 4th at wide open the trans has to be modified to do that.
sorry but pm or e-mail this guy 69kybird he said he had one for the same price and I think his is new. I don't have any personal experiences with him though so it is up to you. If you get it change the cheap *** shifter ball they send with it to a better one.
yeah I sold it a long time ago. I am thinking of doing something with the stock shifter to make and sell sooner or later, I just have to get around to doing it.
