Re: 1987 sunroof parts?

The factory never installed sunroofs into Camaros or Firebirds so you sunroof is an aftermarket piece. You'll need to get some measurments and try to find out who made it in order to get replacement parts.

ive seen a few others with the same one (the brand was either asc or spc)i guess it was a option from the dealer & they went to that particular company straight from the factory.whatever company it was had a website up until the past year & then i havent heard anything since.

Re: 1987 sunroof parts?

i'm gonna have to see if i have pics of when it was still intact.theres 3 mounts,2 front & the main handle in the rear.basically you could keep it open in one position or take the whole piece out.i always get nervous it's gonna break & i'll be stuck with nothing there.i'm thinking of maybe fabricating a aluminum back up piece

Re: 1987 sunroof parts?

I'm pretty sure I've still got an overhead roof console that I pulled from a sun-roof car:

99% sure they didnt come with the overhead console.mine just has a basic square domelite rear of the sunroof.all the other controls that were overhead options on some models are all dash mounted.

Re: 1987 sunroof parts?

The car I got it from was originaly a hard-top 86 Berlinetta with the overhead console as standard equipment. That roof console was cut-to-fit by whomever installed the sunroof into that car.

( Sunroofs were NOT factory ).
