I like the stock ones, preferably the 82-84 style. But I've seen some good looking ones at yearone.com. you could check there for one. I know they have some specificly for our cars. getting that airbag wheel off isn't hard. first you need to buy/borrow/rent a steering wheel puller. then disconnect your battery. I also suggest pulling the airbag fuse too. on the back of you steering wheel there is going to be 4 screws holding your airbag on. take them out and then disconnect the wires from the column. place the airbag somewhere SAFE. you don't want it going off accidently. then take the retainer ring off the big bolt right in front of you and then use a socket wrench to take off the big nut. hook up the steering wheel puller and yank that old wheel off. remember when you're buying your new wheel that you'll need to buy a new connecting neck too for the wheel. some come with ans other without....mostly without from what I've seen. toss that on and you're done...unless the little SRS light bothers you. Since you no longer have an airbag it will always stay on. jsut do like the rest of us and yank the little lightbulb out, you don't need it anymore. |
