Their is a difference in years in thirdgens and forthgens. Their is a difference in wiring in a thirdgen firebird and camaro, someone who had a/c delete, etc. To help everyone, you would need a few examples, or a few articles.

There is a "sticky" thread of forth gen wiring and it has vacuum line diagrams too for the a/c controls. That comes pretty close.

IMO, they dont like quite "right" in our cars. They are too roundish looking to be in a more squared off third gen. Just my opinion though....

Can't Some One Please make a website

Hey, this sounds like a great project. I would like to put a complete 4th Gen interior inside a 3rd Gen (dash, console, doors, back seat, etc). Is there any chance we could get a collaboration from every one that has done a conversion like this and post step by step instructions with pictures on a website or something? If this sounds unlikely, could some one email me pics and some instructions on how to do this to an '87 IROC

Re: putting in 4th gen dash to 3rd gen iroc help please

Its been a few years since i did this but i did end up doing the complete swap in my 92rs 5speed. Everyone thought i was crazy while i was doing it but it looked damn good when i was done, the console is a direct swap if you have a manual nothing special to it. The dash was pretty straight forward to it wasnt hard at all. The main problem i had was wiring the gauges, and the ac/heater controls. I got all the gauges to work but the tach it worked but was really jumpy, and i kept the 3rd gen hvac controls and just made a plate to adapt them to the 4th gen dash with a piece of abs. Just take your time, dont cut corners and do it right the first time or you'll regret it, and when your done you will have an awesome interior.
