I don't know about the 4th gen seat tracks, but the 3rd gen seat tracks bolt directly to the 4th gen seats. Rear seats fit just as well but I had problems with the lower seats not having the velcro to hold them down.

Fronmts fit, with 4th gen tracks.

Rear seats are NOT 100$ the same size between 3rd and 4th gen. I had minor fitment issues with the rear 4th gen seats, and decided not to use them. No one should sit back there, anyway.

Hey it looks like you had split rear seats in there before... How does that factor into fitting the rear seat back in? Does the bar push into the seat upholstry or what?

horray! that means i can get...oh wait, i already have some, lol.

my 4th gen seats are probably the best thing I did for my car, ride wise. i'd love to recover them in 93-97 style leather.

...has any one put reproduction 3rd gen seat covers on a 4th gen seat? I thought that'd be kinda neat. have the comfort and bolster support of a 4th gen, but then the appearance of a base model 3rd?

maybe I'm just retarded.

I removed the bar on my car, gave me some trouble. But I just used a hammer and screwdriver.

I just picked up a set of 4th gen seats (solid rear) and was planing on putting them in my t/a this weekend. I currently have a split rear, i thought that they fit in no problem...

what needs to be done to replace a split rear with a solid rear? what bar? i dont see any bar, even when both sides are down... i feel dumb, b/c its probably something real easy

the bar is what the seats attach to, it is right there at the top of the hump underneath the bottom of the seat back.
Solid seat fits in fine, it will just rest on the bar and be hardly noticeable.

I had 30thh ones in my 92, they fit just fine, front and rear. The only difference is, the rear seat cushions are a TAD narrower, so you kinda get a gap between the cushion and the trim, but most people never notice it, until it is pointed out.

My 87 GTA has 4th gen front seats, and they fit just fine. Better, actually...They don't sit quite as high, and are more comfortable, than 3rd gen seats.

i dont want to tear the leather

well, it looks like its putting a lot of strain on the leather part that its sitting on. I have 30th anneversiy seats and i dont want to cause any damage to them, so ill probably end up cutting those bars off with an air saw.

I'll let everyone know how it goes

But...Is there anything "special" about the 30th rear seats? Mine weren't.

I'd say, keep your split rears, and have them recovered, to match the 30th seats. That way you get the best of both worlds...4th gen front & split rear seats.

whats even the advantage of having split rears? i never found one...

and i already have all 4 seats, and i want them all to match colors (which they do now, so y go through hell recovering old ones...)

and besides the 4th gen solid rear has the 30th logo in the center of it...

You can fold one, yet still have a back seat. It was nice to be able my daughters car seat, yet fold one for mor e carrying room. I no longer have my rear seats in my car anymore anyways.
