Re: covans gauge panel wiring harness

I believe summit sells the same one for like $100.

I put one of these in my car before I knew about the wiring harness they sell and I think if I was going to do it again I would pay the xtra money. Not only for an easier install but more professional and if you decide to sell the car some people prefer the stock look and it would be much easier to take it back with the OEM connectors.

Re: covans gauge panel wiring harness

I'm in the process of converting to the Covan Classic dash panel, but my plan is to use all mechanical guages, so I don't have to worry about the harness.

Re: covans gauge panel wiring harness

Anyone have the p/n for the harness (in an e-mail from Covan awhile back I was told their harness was not a complete plug and play). A direct-fit harness would push me to spend some dough.

Found the item on Summit: CCL-110-82-5200. Awaiting another e-mail from Covans.

Re: covans gauge panel wiring harness

Here's the reply:

No sorry it is not. there is hardwiring to be done. The plug and play is after our installation is complete. Being two plugs that will make the finale connection. Most of the wiring to be done will be on the fuel, volt and instrument lighting. Thanks

In a message dated 01/25/08 07:56:40 Eastern Standard Time,

Hey, Guys,

Is the harness provided with your products (I have an 85 Camaro IROC)
truly a complete plug and play, one that requires no modification
whatsoever?
