Changing Orange shifter and HVAC light to blue LED

Ok, ive done some searching and a lot of research, but I still havent found my answer.
I curresntly have HVAC controls out of a transam in my camaro and they light up an orange color and so does my shifter plate with the stock bulb. If i change that bulb to say a blue LED, what color would it light up? will it still be orange or will it change at all? Does anyone have pics of of these with different color bulbs? I know with the white hvac and shifter it will change but I dont know about the orange color. anyone tried it or anything

I'm pretty sure in the shifter, there is a orange under layer that makes it light up orange. I think thats what it was when I removed it from mine. Not sure about the HVAC, good luck...

Re: Changing Orange shifter and HVAC light to blue LED

The orange is between the white you see on top & the black coating on the underside of the shift indicator lense. On the HVAC the orange is applied in a similar manner.Changing the bulb wont really get rid of the orange color. On the camaro HVAC though there is no orange coating only blue & only white on the early(pre 90 i think)shift indicator.
