4th gen to 3rd gen door panel swap

Anyone ever put a 4th gen firebirds door panels into a 3rd gen? If anyone has, could you give me any information to do it aswell? Bytheway, I'm putting in a 4th gen dash in my 3rd gen, so no issues there on spacing.

any info would be great, thank you!

Welcome to TGO. IIRC, the panels have to be modded to fit, but a search will provide much more info on fourthgen interior swaps.

Re: 4th gen to 3rd gen door panel swap

I've done them, as well as a few others. They are a pain to fit and look nice, but well worth it IMO.

Heres my thread dedicated to em:

Shr00m did them as well:

Firebat's done them as well, but I'm not sure if he ever made a thread dedicated to them.

Way to dig up a 3 year old thread. I agree though, it does look pretty good. Too bad the thread about it is gone.

Re: 4th gen to 3rd gen door panel swap

While we're at it, I'm going to ask a dumb question....has anyone ever put 3rd gen door panels in a 4th gen? I think the 3rd gen panels are made of much better material with the soft vinyl and cloth instead of 100% molded hard plastic that's guaranteed to develop large cracks just from rolling the windows up and down.

That being said, make sure you get 1993-99 door panels as the 2000-02s were plagued with cracking problems at the top, at least when installed in 4th gens.

Re: 4th gen to 3rd gen door panel swap

Sorry to dig up the old thread again, but does anyone know any threads that detail the process of putting 4th gen door panels in the 3rd gen? The link that was posted on here is broken. Thanks!

Keep searching. There are a TON of threads on here. Try: "panel swap" for a search.
