I was wondering if anybody had any reviews on Deluxe GTA Hampton Vinyl Seat upholstery kit from Classic industries. I have ordered a set from hawks before and they were excellent condition. I was wondering if the set Hawks sells is the same exact set that classic industries sells. If anyone has purchased a set from Classic or Hawks I would greatly appreciate your input. thanks!!

i bought a set of gta seat upholstery kit black cloth from hawks and i don't like them. i got them in aug of last year and they are already showing signs of wear i don't like the covers more than likely won't buy another from them
when i was looking at these aftermarket covers 2 years ago, my research indicated that they all are made by the same company, just many people sell them. This makes sense too since every set of material samples i saw that you could order those covers in where absolutely identical for colours and patterns.
I never ended up getting any and got lucky recently finding another set of seats near mint with GM material so i won't be either. I do know a couple people that have used them and are unhappy with the quality. One of those people have the hampton vinyl.
Oh and those aftermarket covers will not match the mateial pattern on GTA seats. So if you want the original look and material quality, get the GM material (which is still available) and have someone make up new covers. OEM material is more expensive but for a reason.
What are the complaints with the cloth ones ? Do they wear quickly or do they not fit right? Or both? Would having an upholstery shop install them make them look better? I need the red cloth ones but I'd rather not spend $400 for them if they're going to look like the backseat of granny's Buick . Mine wouldn't be getting heavy usage, just maybe once a week.
I would actually like to Know that too.. Im looking for the cloth seat covers too, and I actually have hawks third gen sending me samples..My seats are already that leather/vynol and i dont like that and want to switch it to cloth..
Bump up again, I was doing a search for seat upholstery and found quite a few "4th gen seat threads"
But has anyone "restored" their interior using the cloth seat upholstery, headliners and door panels from Hawks?
If so how close to a factory look was it? I know these aren't exact GM matches.
Pics??
Thanks!
I looked at the samples and I didn't like the material, it's velour like what you'd expect in a Buick or Olds. I ordered the factory pallex cloth for mine and I'm going to let the 'Covergirl' (search threads) make me some new covers.
I was able to get the rare carmine red pallex at a very good price.
Don't tease with that... I'm hoping to have my GTA door panels redone in that color with either black vinyl or neoprene surrounding it. How much was it? It's either stock material or something like felt...

I was originally quoted $60 per yard, but when I called back there was a little mix up from the first guy I talked to and they couldn't find it, lol. He lowered the price to $49 per yard. Even at $60, that's a steal compared to the $85 that SMS wanted. It's the exact same fabric as the stock material. I didn't buy enough to redo my door panels because they still look good, but I'm kinda thinking I might should get some for later on down the road.
i have a set from hawks that are 91 deluxe not bad but the pattern is painted on the gray cloth kind of a cheap way to do it and i have a set of black for my 92 from classic i would say the same company made both as the pattern is painted on and the are packaged the sams as hawks. they same to be wearing ok. but not worht the money if i had it to do over
