Upgrade on interior

I have been recently changing my interior from gray to black with some new seats and figured I would post my adventure. I wish I would have taken more pictures but I did all the work within a week and was trying to rush for a car show coming up this weekend.

The first picture is right at the begining of me taking the interior apart, that is the gray interior that had to go.

Second is rear with all panels out.

Third really shows how dirty the carpet was all the mess of wires. The middle console was the most pain in the *** to get out to me.

Re: Upgrade on interior

First is a show of the rear with seats and all out.

Second is a show with the carpet, I was actually suprised to see that their really wasn't a whole lot of rust. I took a wire wheel and ground the surface rust off the best I could and then cured it with some rust to prime spray and then also primed over that as well.

Pictures of the black passenger area carpet. The carpet actually went in pretty well.

First picture with the cargo carpet removed. The red is a plate to access the fuel pump.

Second pic is a shot of the new door panels installed.

Third shot was right after I took the first ride with the new seats that came in that day. The are made by Hunsaker and they ride really nice. The only bad this was they took 2 months to get to me, they were made after I called.

Re: Upgrade on interior

These are new pictures of the dont product, just finished putting the plastics in today. The only thing I do need is a new dash pad and middle console lid. I am not too worried about those for now. I moved that amp for the front speakers from the passenger rear floor to up on the box for a cleaner look and to get it out of the way. For the rear seats, I think I am going to take them to get reapolstured to match the fronts. I was going to get some black leather 4th gens, but those seats arent as wide as the thirds so I am not sure on what to do, depends on prices for redoing mine.

Other than that I am very please with the turn out. Let me know what you guys think or if there is anything else you see that needs some work.

The carpet is actually used and I bought it off a member from the forum. It was real dirty so I spent some good time with the vacumn and steam cleaner. Turned out pretty good.

No, I actually used a product by colorbond. It is basically like a carpet dye. You spray it on and once dry move the carpet fibers around and spray till coverd. The spray didn't even harden the carpet....great stuff. I actually did that sub box as well. If you wanted to check it out, you can purchase it as Summit Racing.

Re: Upgrade on interior

Nice. I may pick up a can or 2 of the spray adhesive by 3M. A few peeps have been talking about using it on their carpet jobs. Hopefully only a few areas will need it.
