Re: 2000 firebird interior into 3rd gen

did some more digging, they look about the same but as far as the gauge cluster, im assuming that that wont work out to well, and would have to be replaced with a 98ish camaro cluster from a v-8.... im not looking for a how to, but before i spend $250 on everything i wanna make sure i can make it work

any help would be great!

Anything can be done, it is just harder for some. I have not done any fourthgen swaps but I do know that the door panels require modification for use and the intrument panel could be an issue because it's looking for a signal from the ECM. I would look around a bit more across the internet, good luck with your swap. Don't forget pictures if you go through with it.

There will be no ECM issues with a pre 97 cluster. The topic has been beaten to death around here do a search.

I have done as much research as i can just about do on this site, and yes i know this has been beaten like a bad child on this site, but that is specifically for the camaro dash..

i am fully aware that camaro and firebird parts for the greater amount are completely interchangeable, but as with any project... i want to see if anyone knows about specific details etc

if it was a camaro dash, i wouldnt have to ask, but since its a firebird one, i want to make sure before i spend money on something that isnt/is going to work.

thank you for the info on the pre 97 cluster, as i was reading through threads, it appeared that a 98 cluster was the best suitable choice

The dash from both camaros's and birds bolt up the same and wire up pretty much identical too. Essentially they are the same dash frame with different face. 98+ cluster is not the suitable choice unless you have an engine swap. The 98 and up cluster requires mods to get everything working. For instance you can take out the fuel gauge and put in a older one to get that part working. But still why bother when you can get a older cluster?
