I have a set of C5 Corvette sport seats I am wanting to install in my 90 IROC vert. I know there will have to be modification but I want to know if I drill holes is there anything under there that will be compromised. I work at a shop and have examined the area and it looks ok, but I want to make sure. Also want to know wiring hookups to allow the seats to work properly. Let me know please!
Before drilling new holes in the floor...I'd set both seats side by side, upside down, and see if the F-body seats tracks could b e swapped over to the Vette seats.
Might hafta do some cutting & reworking of the seat tracks, but I'd be leary of new holes in a floor pan, since they might not end up in a strong spot & rip through under hard braking/cornering/impact. Granted, you could reinforce that area with BIG washers/plates etc. but..... :dunno:
if you drill holes to put in these seats I would get one of those bars you can find at a local hardware store that has holes all the way across and have a bar going from the left to right on the rear and one from the left to right on the front. Then go back and spray under coating. Just my opinion. Good luck the seats are sweet.
Simular to this

I remember thinking that those sport seats where the coolest damn seats I'd ever seen, and wondered if anyone would ever put them in a thirdgen, you have given me hope!
hey im doing the same seat swap i was wondering if you got the power hooked up and if so can you tell me what i meed to do i got how to install the seats in the car but the wireing i cant figure out.
there are two main wires off of the seat harness, power and ground. those control all seat functions, including the adjusting bolsters. My car did not have power seats, so I had to make a new harness, I used an inline fuse (25amp) and a quick disconnect in case I had to pull them out for some reason. I also made a power distribution block for any additions I put on. It works great! Post pictures man!! Good luck!
