Ok Ive been searching for a while now and cant find anything on this. Ive found it for the earlier cluster's but not this one. I bought a 145 speedo on ebay and want to swap it into my car and keep the same millage. I have taken it apart, got the speedometer out of the cluster and thats where Im stuck. I dont want to break anything but I just cant figure out how to get to the reel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you have to pull the needle off carefully, then very carefully peel back the face. you will then see a couple mini torx screws that need to come out. that's all i know.

Ok, use a fork to pop the speedometer needle off. Once you have the speedo needle off. Carefully peel off the 145 face. If you mess it up, I actually have a complete glow gauges set ill sell ya for 10 bucks. Only used once. But that's besides the point. After you peel the original face off. You will have 2 torx screws you have to remove. This will separate the clear plastic that the speedo face sticks to from the actual cluster insides. From here you remove the plastic face. Then use a small allen wrench to remove 2 screws on either side the odometer. The odometer will now lift out. Put any other 90-92 odometer in its place and bam. You are done. If You still dont understand. Send me a pic of the cluster with the 145 face removed, and Ill highlight the screws that need to come out. It's not hard at all. I actually did it to one of the 145 mph clusters I had a WHILE back so it would match my mileage. Worked perfectly.

I believe that's for the older 82-89 style gauges. I could be wrong but those pics look nothing like my cluster did.

Hey thanks for all you help guys I managed to get it out. I must say, peeling off the template to get to those two screws was a P.I.T.A. That is some glue they used.

Ok guys I got in the cluster. Everything works except the tach, but the old one didn't work either. I need to check out that tech article on fixing the tach but that is another day. One problem that I did have was after I installed the cluster the buzz sound when you leave your lights on or the keys in the ignition wouldnt turn off. It was going off even when I was driving. For a quick fix I just unpluged the speaker, but what was causing it to stay on?
