Right I finally have my car and can post another reply.
I was cleaning the car and found under the seat so not well hidden a drug hiding kit - as far as I can tell this is to hide any results of drugs.
Now the amazing thing is this car has passed throught Customs & MAF which serches for anything like that and also even down to leaves on the car which could bring bugs into New Zealand

$2.75 worth of change, a Chuckie Cheese game token from 1997, a bottle cap from a beer named "Bud Dry", lots of random bank statements and receipts, as well as a phillips screwdriver and quite a few razor blades... Anybody think my car was used to deal crack?

My fiancee seems to think the GM factory workers might have been doing "lines" on the lines...

I just found a dome light cover in my door yesterday as I was looking for the C-clip for my door lock so it would stop falling out. No clue how it got in there lol

I found a piece of used chewing gum (big red I think) under the seam sealer on the drivers side in my 83 TA I am restoring.

Haven't found anything in the maro yet, but I did find a vintage bottle of "Pepsi-Cola" in my 1971 Maverick's quarter-panel. Someone got creative and actually suspended it in the air with two pieces of mechanics wire. From what I could see, the quarter panel had never been opened before. Maybe a factory prank?

The reason I bring this up is when I bought my '91 z/28, there was this really loud rattling coming from inside the drivers door whenever I hit a bump. Not even a rattling, more of a thumping noise. It wasn't causing any harm, and I was busy with school and work, so I let it rattle it's little brains out for about a month until yesterday I finally had a nice day and some free time to pull the door panel off and find out exactly what on earth was making that noise.

Well...here it is :

it's a solid steel coil spring. Weighs almost 3 pounds. I have no idea what it is/where it came from, as I've never seen one inside a third-gen door before between owning 3 and junkyard diving countless times. The only thing I can equate it to is one of the springs that older cars used to hold the hood open.

Well anyways, since I've made this astoundingly odd discovery, I was just wondering if anybody else has ever found anything weird in their third gen.

edit - crap, I made a typo in the title.

that looks like a hood spring from a older car, like a impala or older

That's actually a spring from a Camaro power window motor.

Could be, but it looks like a seat spring to me. I'm an engineer and this is a job we did for a fixture for a, uggh, Mustang seat:

Since it was found in a camaro, most likely it is from power window motor. However, it does look like a hood spring. In fact it looks exactly like the hood springs on my 94 GMC Sierra K1500.

The weirdest thing I've found on my Camaro so far is the 9/16 wrench stuck on the rear sway bar end link on the passenger's side. I drove it all last year and just found it last week.

Not too weird, but I found the owners manual under the seat, the card of the salesman who originally sold the car, a "Stay In Destin On Us" GM promotional brochure, the original sale reciept from 1988 (duh) a Krogers receipt from 1992, a folgers coupon from 1991, some documentation on the car, the original seatbelt recall notice, one of those special lugnet adapter things, some rocks, about $2 in change, and alot of other stuff I forgot about. Not really weird but worth posting.

I put my car away in a barn during the winter and I made the mistake of not using brand new moth balls. When I was done trapping them during the winter I killed 8 of them. Then later that summer i was putting in a radio support thing in the console and dropped a screw and reached in and found a dead mouse. Now I use new moth balls, traps inside and outside the car, and a week or two ahead of time put poison down to kill them before they get in.

There are a couple .22 caliber casings in the little slot where the vin # is in the front window. The last owner must have been hunting out of the driver seat.

My '88 had the norm. Cigg butts, screw or two, random pic of 2 kids, old bic lighter in the vents, misc receipts and lots of change. My '97 30th Anv Z28 had massive ammounts of candy, skittles, trail mix, probablly some Mike & Ike's and a stack of blank Seminole County (FL) tickets. My '83 firebird had easily 60-70 old bud light bottle caps underneath the rear seat cushions.

A couple refillable lighters in the thing in the trunk, and the usual garbage laying around in the car. However, so far I've found two valve springs inside (yes, inside) the front fender. I'm not sure what they are from, but I'm not missing any.

Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c

Have yet to check my 87 that I just recently bought, so far only found original radio in trunk. In my 89 I found a crack pipe underneath the carpet under the drivers seat. Pulled it out one day and didn't know what it was so I stuck it back under there and about 2 years later I realized it was still there and showed a friend who informed me what it was.

Awesome finds haha. I'm inspired now to pull out my spare and see if there's anything under it.

And for the record, it's not the window motor spring. It's about an inch wider than the window motor spring, and mine is still attached on the door it came out of haha.

In my 87 Formula, under the carpet, I found what I thought was a black plastic frog. So picked it up to look at it. As I turned it over to look at the belly I realized that it wasn't actually a plastic frog, it was a very well preserved real frog. It was really hard and from the top it looked like a toy. After I threw it down and yelled I decided it would be a good idea to scare my wife with it.

Some funny and nasty stuff in these cars. Unfortunately, nothing crazy in my third gen, except for some McDonalds ketchup and salt packets. However, in my '68 Chevelle, I found two notes the PO left for himself to visit his parole officer and a vintage cigarette holder/lighter. That same PO informed me at the tender age of 15 that the car was like a hotel and that the women moved from the front right to the back seat. I believe him, as I am pretty sure the couple holes in the back of the front seat are from high heeled shoes!!!

Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c

OK, some may have read this in other threads I posted.

I bought my 89 FB Formula (305 5 spd) from a bugger who had let it sit in his field for 5 yrs or so. When he popped the hood, the local RABBITS had built a warren. Imagine if you will, straw, RABBIT CRAP and other things crammed into the engine compartment. Literally form fit to the underside of the hood.

Upon opening it, a LIVE rabbit jumped out! Yes he ate the wires and hoses, all replaced now.

Digging out the ENGINE and other important bits, I found 1 long dead rabbit. A mummified RAT and dead mice in the outer heater box. FORTUNATELY, they never made their way into the passenger compartment.

In the passenger compartment I found.

1. 1 large box of brand X condoms.

2. Over $7 in change (I ripped out the old carpet because it smelled like a turtle tank).

3. 10 live 22 LR rounds (I find these in EVERY car of EVERY type I buy here in S. CO.).

4. A woman's left shoe. Size 9 (This was crushed under the tilt back driver's seat).

5. A lens for an Olympus OM system camera. 50MM.

6. Meatloaf BAT OUT OF HELL on cassette.

7. An "Employees must wash hands before returning to work" sign. Obviously pulled off a WALL.

If my poor 89 could only talk.

When I ought my 86, I was driving up from the US to Canada, I kept hearing a rattling in the T-Top, when I gt it home I took the covers off and found socks stuffed in between the bars on both T-Tops. Also found a mouse nest on the intake manifold.
When I pulled the car apart, I found 2.00 in change golf tee's

I bought my 86 Firebird from this old hippie. He was probly drunk and stoned when he sold it to me. But when I started to rip out the interior, no joke he upholstered everything with this queer pirate/biker skull pattern fabric. I found all different kinds of pills, cigarette butts, ashes, oil spills, change that I didnt even keep because it was so oxidized you really couldnt even tell what the coins were worth, old receipts, old insurance statements, razors, joints, lighters, and a really weird phone jack that was somehow integrated into the center console.

didnt find a lot in my car besides a colony of thousands of aunts and there has been spiders everywhere in it and underneath I bug bombed my entire garage when I was installing my shifter and a black widow hung from his web off the bill of my hat in front of my face. I screamed like a LITTLE GIRL threw off my hat and shirt and ran out of the garage and went straight to walmart for the bug bombs lol
