Re: Rear Seat

only 3rd and 4th gen seats will bolt into the rear of a thirdgen. They're a pretty unique design... the closest I've seen to them is 2nd gen seats, but they have a non-folding back that would mount differently.

Re: Rear Seat

I would say that the monza/vega back seats would work but I trashed my old set when dropping weight. They have the same design and the back folds down but I think the back isn't wide enough maybe by a inch or two.

And those sure wouldn't be easy to find in good shape, or at all!
n0pre55ure, why do you ask? 3rd and 4th gen rear seats are very easy to find in good condition considering they are rarely sat in!

Re: Rear Seat

Reason i ask is i am wondering about the fold down part as i am working on a heck of a sound system and would like to see what would fit. I plan to build amps into the back but to keep the seating as well. And keep the space for the t-tops.

Re: Rear Seat

I've seen people actually build amp storage into the back of the 3rd gen rear seat. It was very impressive! You can also consider utilizing the spare tire area and the drivers side rear storage compartment for an amp or sub. You can also put a sub where one of the rear seat cushons is located. I personally never had more than one person in the back of my 3rd gen at a time.
