I am trying to convert my tan interior to a black interior but am having a real hard time finding good quality used black carpets....... wondering how much difference is there in the black, charcoal, and dark gray carpets.... pictures of the carpets ive searched for arent the best of quality ..... any input is appreciated.....
I wouldn't recommend ACC carpet. From what I've seen their carpets fade FAST. We've been wanting to start carrying new carpet for a while but haven't found anything we're happy with. For now, I'd say your best bet is to find a nice set of used carpet. We have a nice set of used charcoal carpet available on our website right now.
I don't remember where I read it but ACC said that was an issue with the dye in a certain lot number. If you take care of the carpet and don't abuse it....they will honor the warranty on issues with fading.
Maybe Tony @ 1A will chime in and correct me if I'm wrong. That's where I got my ACC carpet.
how much difference is there between the black and charcoal carpet colors?..... god i sound dumb dont i?.....
have them send you samples - they will do it without a problem.
i thought i was getting a darker grey than was oem but when i pulled some pieces covering my light grey carpet - it was the same dark grey - just faded over 20 years.
i bought ACC and i was not happy with their formed carpet. it took a lot of work to put in and then form it out.
i would get the extra padidng too for the 60 bucks.
when you take off the oem carpet you will see the difference between oem and aftermarket - i was surprised how good the oem was.
do yall think charcoal carpet would be ok in an all black interior conversion or do i need black carpets......dont want it to look weird
Well, it's definitely a matter of personal preference but I kind of like a little bit of contrast in the interior. I've never been a fan of cars with complete black interiors because everything just kind of blends together and there no real definition. Also, remember that many black Camaro seats have a good amount of dark gray in them so depending on which style Camaro seats your using you could easily have some gray in your seats as well.

If you want my opinion....yes it would look weird if everything is black and your carpet is charcoal gray.
I bought a Trans Am and it originally had black carpet and rear plastic, charcoal seats and belts, black headliner, spray bombed door panels (in black).
The contrast between the charcoal seats and black carpet drove me nuts...especially since there was charcoal carpet sewed into the back of the seat.

As far as quality, fit & price ACC has the market cornered in carpets.I'd been selling ACC rugs for years in both the Mustang and Camaro markets. I have a gray one in my car and it looks great.
If there were any type of issue with any of our products we'll make good on it. As far as I'm concerned with ACC your good to go.
