I'm not sure if this would work for Camaros, but while I was replacing my console, I figured I would share how I fixed the wobbly shift knob on my Formula. It's pretty simple, all I did was remove the shift knob, and carefully squeeze the two clips a little bit with some vise-grips, and it feels like new again
Mods so far: MSD Cap and rotor, MSD ignition coil, Accel 8.8mm ignition wires, Hooker Super Comp Shortie Headers, Flowmaster 3in catback, underdrive crank pulley, custom cold air intake, NOS wet 125 shot, air foil and a lead foot! no E/T's yet. ...TURBO COMING SOON...Other mods include keyless entry and remote start, and Sequential Turn Signals.

Yes, the clip was inserted. It is just that somehow over the years, the notch in the shifter rod either wore down a little bit or separated a little bit. I just thought I would just throw this up here in case anyone else had similar issues.
