I have been looking for some replacement carpet that is layed out just like the stock stuff. Everything I have looked at only has a single heel pad on the driver floorboard, my stock carpet however has 3 pads, one in the floor, one by the gas pedal, and one by the kick panel. I was wondering if anyone has bought carpet from these guys and could tell me if it has all three pads like the factory carpet? Thanks.
I cannot say I have, but did recently change my carpet in my 85 TA. I did alot of research and went with the OER Brand from Classic Industries. Junk, do not buy that brand !!! Sent it back !!
I went to the Auto Interior place I has my Door Panels done, TOMS AUTO UPHOLSTERY PROS in butler NJ.
He only used one brand of carpet for his shop, Auto Custom Carpets.
Very nice quality carpet, the drivers side 3 heal/foot pads are there, but alittle different from the Original. My original GM mats cover most of that, so I am pleased with the look.
I also installed a Sound Deadner called Hush mat, what a difference !!

Thanks for the reply, this is good news, I might just check that place out. I finally got a reply from stock interiors and they dont have the three pads, just one in the floorboard (which is pointless since the floormat protects that area, the other two are the most important to be there). This is unfortunate since they had very nice looking carpet and a good price too.
You said the carpet you got from accmats.com had the three pads but they where a little different, do they still cover the same spots? I wear heavy work boots a lot and my foot would rub a hole next to the gas pedal if not for that pad being there, and with my long legs I have to put my left foot on that fender well pad since their isnt room for me to place my foot flat on the floorboard. If those two areas wherent padded, I would wear it through in no time.
If you could show me a pic of your driver floorboard with the new Accmats carpet that would be excellent, and appreciated.

The carpet I got from stockinteriors had the three factory type pads. I didn't compare them directly but they appear to be very similar to the original factory sizes. With the optional Mass Backing it is very close to the factory carpets.
Also, the carpet that stockinteriors sells is ACC brand carpet, you'll find that most moulded carpet for our third gens is ACC regardless of who you order it from. Basically just go with the vendor that offers the best price, especially on shipping, that's where I seen the largest difference in price.
For instance, 1AAuto.com offers free shipping on their carpets.

We offer free shipping on all of our parts, and if you would like a free sample before ordering your carpet we'll send one out to you.
All of our carpets are ACC carpets, they offer the best quality out there.
I just got new carpet from Hawks Third Gen, and am very happy with it. It is ACC brand, and has the three pads for the driver footwell like is pictured above.

Thanks a bunch for the info guys, I finally got a reply from stockinteriors, and they said theirs just had one pad, they probably just guessed and didnt bother to look, but Im kinda afraid to order from there even though its acc for fear it will just have one pad.
Those pics look great, thats just what Im looking for. Ill most likely go with 1A or Hawks when I get ready to order the new carpet. Do those come with the thick rubber mass backing like the factory stuff? I didnt see the option for it extra on either site.

I've replaced the carpet on several of my cars over the years. All the aftermarket carpet I've bought has come with some padding material attached to the back in key places... but it's seldom as thick or as prevalent as the OEM pad was. At first, I used to just install it that way. But the last couple times I've begun supplementing that padding with regular household carpet pad you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes. For my current car I'm carpeting now, I got a pretty big roll of 1/2 in. padding, 6' x 9', for $30. If you scout around you can get an odd-lot chunk of the stuff for a lot less than that at a carpet store I imagine.
I just cut various pieces where needed to add to the padding provided with the new carpet. Be careful not to try and put it everywhere or you will end up with some daunting fitment challenges around things like seat belt bolts and seat mounting studs. Hope that helps....
I was actually talking about the thick black rubber backing on the carpet. I have the insulation/padding stuff already, just want to make sure it has that thick backing on it. The Stock Interiors website had an option to add the thick black rubber backing for an extra charge, I was hoping that the other vendors offered this too.
