1984 guages and guage lights

Ok so im not sure what happened but this is what i know.

when i bought the car the horn didnt work, it still doenst work and i havent messed with it.

my car had some sort of electrical problem. however i put a new rotor, distributar cap, and supercore on the car and havent had any problems with it dieing due to me turning the radio on, or interior lights on anymore.

my drivers headlight motor was broken. i replaced it and when i did my guage lights now wont turn on. i turn the dimmer switch up the guage lights dont turn on BUT if i turn it all the way up the overhead interior lights still turn on.

now my cars gauges were kinda shot but also now that the lights for it wont turn on, the cars tac doesnt register either. i plan on replacing all the guages but i would like to know how replacing a headlight motor would seemingly mess up all the interior gauges and lighting.

any help and places that might sell replacement gauges for under 300 dollars would be great. id prefer some sort of new gauges if possible as i plan on doing a FULL restore and turning the OD to zero miles when im done.
