Hi everybody, my 87 iroc rear hatch motor doesn't want to stop running . i had to disconnect it .. before the motor went. and my trunck wouldn't even close properly . does anyone have a similar problem. and how did you solve this one .. any answers would be appreciated thanks mike
actually you should be able to get that plastic gear from any cadillac with a electric trunk pull down, the plastic parts and motor are the same, i grabbed 4 on my last yard visit lol
I agree with Justin, TDS is the way to go. They are awesome to deal with, and have top quality parts! Bought one of these from them 5 years ago and everything is working wonderful to this day!

That's probably a good idea to have an extra 1 or 4 on hand!
I think what happens is the struts get lazy after time and don't lift the hatch off the mechanism and it won't go all the way up. The motor keeps running trying to push the hatch up and ends up grinding the teeth off the gear.
