| Re: will a 4th gen column fit a third gen The difference is the length of the shaft that sticks out on the engine side of the firewall. The 4th gen shaft is longer. However, the 3rd gen has an adjustable length shaft that connects the steering column to the steering box... so you might be able to swap it. What's the reason to change though? they are virtually identical in appearance inside the car.
