Nope.....Not at all. That is why hundreds of us already have them bolted in......
Please use the to find your answers, rather than adding to the board size. The answer already exists thousands times over, on the boards. No need to ask.
Actually the electric seats sit higher and they feel kind of weird even though I'm short. It's probably a good idea to find some manual tracks if they're electric. Mine are from a '95 I believe. I also gave away a set of manual tracks to someone else in a similar situation except they needed them more than I did.
I've got Electric 4th gen seats in my 84 Firebird from a 2000 T/A. Used the 4th gen brackets. The bolt holes lined up 100%. Only thing I had to do was fix the wiring to work with the drivers side seat. Like Stephen said though, I've moved it exactly once...when i first sat in it. The 4th gen seats do sit lower in the car than the third gen ones and are SOOOOO much more comfortable. If you do a search on the boards you'll find probably 1000 threads and posts about people who have already done this conversion.

That's interesting. Mine are from a '95 so there must be a difference in height between the years. I agree, there is no going back as far as comfort goes.
So what do you guys do about the rear seat? Or do those swap too? I know, search...but this threads already open.
Direct fit. Bottom cushions about 1"-2" narrower. So if really look at the sides, you'll notice the tiny gaps between the cushions & tunnel/plastic panels. Difference isn't worth worrying about.
But if you have & want to keep the split rear seat back cushions, 4th gens never came with those. So you might not want to replace the rear seats. I didn't. because I kept my split rears.

So one big cushion as opposed to two inserts? I'm picking up my TransAm Monday and planning ahead as to what I'm gonna be doing....maybe pick up the seats while I'm out.
Thanks man

No.
On 3rd & 4th gens, the bottom cushions are 2 individual ones.
The BACK part, what your back leans against, is what I was referring to. Some 3rd gens had a single wide, fold down back, some had a 2-piece, fold down cushion. Mine has the 2-piece, so I just left the rear seats alone.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I just don't want to swap out the front seats and have different upholstery front and back.
Guess it's time to start searching "most popular mods" and "common problems".
