Hey guys, I was just wondering how the interior door panels are removed since I need to remove the ground effects off of the doors and the driver's side window motor is shot. I'm assuming you just pry it off and buy new pegs (or mounts.... whatever they're called) at the car parts store. Am I right?

if you have the correct door panel tool you shouldn't have to replace any of the pegs i have never broke any. don't forget the arm rest and the plastic trim piece around door handle and the door lock

it has a slight curve and fork on the end that fits around the plastic pegs

I bought this, helped a lot. I used it to remove my front engine cover, where the latch is. Also helped remove the fog light boxes (Not brackets, but what the brackets and fog lights sit on/in).

Oh yes yes, nice reminder James, for when I do my new door locks.

Remove armrests. Remove door handle and swithces/bezels, some of the "nuts" are just molded plastic decoration, careful to not damage they do not remove. Use the tool mentioned above to slip between panel and door metal, slide until you run into one of the retainers, pop out, continue around door until all are loose. The top of panel inner trim piece with window sweeps is attached to the door panels -with window rolled down and door open grab this piece at each end with hands and pull up slightly while kind of rocking from front to back of door lenghtwise should pop off and your panels are now off.

After the panel is loose, I found it easy to hold onto the bottom of the panel and apply pressure upwards, and then gently smack along the top plastic trim along the side (inwards) to unhook it from the door. Be careful as the trim on these typically are cracked about 4" from where the mirror is. If you do it right it easily pops off (straight up) and causes minimal stress on the piece.

IF it's a Camaro then use a torx T-15 to remove the plastic panels but be careful as he stated that many of the screw heads are fake and you'll ruin the panels if you try to unscrew them. You'll need a T-30 4" to get into where the door handle screws are located. IIRC, one at the top and one or two from underneath at an angle.
