Hi, I'm trying to remove the driver seat in an 88 gta so that I can clean or inspect the track to figure out why it wil not go forward or backward. Also, the lumbar works but the power side wings or whatever they are called that wrap around you does not work. You can hear the power working but only for a few seconds and then stops when you either tighten or losen. Anyway, I removed three of the bolts. The one I'm having a lot of trouble with is the right rear bolt. Very hard to get to. It seems as if the track of the seat is right above the bolt making very little room to get a tool over the bolt, maybe because I can not move the seat forward. Also, should I have to take any seat trim or anything off. I did not remove anything to get to the bolts other than the little bolt covers. Thanks. Ryan
The air pump for the lumbar stops when the bladders are either completely full or fully defalted. However if something is pinching the airline & blocking the flow of air.The same issue your having will result.
Unless you can move the seat track forward or raise it.It will be very difficult to remove the nut.Maybe a skinny open end wrench will fit!
I cant even imagine trying to get either the front or rear nuts without being able to move the seat forward/backward. Maybe the seat switch took a crap??
Like already said, you're gonna have to sneak a wrench in there. The nut will probably hit the track as it tries to come up, so you might have to raise the seat as you loosen it. Should be able to get it though.
J.
