locking center console???

I tried searching this awhile without much luck. I know summer is over, but after having my t-tops out all summer I started wondering if anyone makes a center console that locks.

Re: locking center console???

I've never heard of it but it shouldn't be too hard to do, specially if you take the locking settup from the "rear" glovebox...

Re: locking center console???

Yeah? I'm not quite sure if that is an easy task for me. Then how do I lock my rear glovebox?

You could get one from another car, but not sure if it could be re "tumblered" to use your existing key. Or just deal with having 2 keys.

Re: locking center console???

I normally don't lock my rear glovebox since I've removed the cardboard box and keep tools and other misc stuff in there anyway. You can use a donor lock on the rear and use your original lock on your center console...

Re: locking center console???

so does no one know of a product that exists with a lock built into the center console. I'm not like retrofitting some lock into my center console and cutting into the armrest especially since the potential of it ever working is zero.

Re: locking center console???

nothing direct fit. What I was thinking about doing (if I ever did it) is use the rear one, and put it on the side of the center console, not the armrest itself. So the hook from the lock hooks on to the lid and keeps it held down until released (turned) with the key...
