ashtray gauge pod

Does anyone make one? I tried searching but no luck. It looks like 2 gauges facing the driver could be molded into the ashtray cover without doing anything to the top console plate.

Re: ashtray gauge pod

it would be pretty easy to make/mod. but to my knowledge no one makes anything like that... Why not go with the standard 3gauge pod on the a-arm?

Re: ashtray gauge pod

I don't know...I have one on my other car, I just don't want one in my TA. I want to add at least a trans temp gauge. The ashtray seems like a good place for gauges, kind of like how the new Camaro has them.

I like where you're going with that. I've just been eye balling mine thinking about stuffing it full of switches.

Thats where i put all my switches, it came out really nice..
Id be tough to fit a decent sized gauge in em, but hey...i dont see why not. I havent seen any aftermarket ones available. What i would do..is go to a junk hard..pull out an older center piece with the ashtray..practice making your own before you do it on a good one.

Re: ashtray gauge pod

thats a good idea. I bet you could cut the ashtray part off and fab something out of plexiglass. I saw on some forum how a guy made cupholders that way.

Re: ashtray gauge pod

if i ever get a break from school, i'll make mine so that i can still close the lid over the ash tray .... hopefully without flicking any of the switches inside. i'm trying to keep a stock-ish looking interior.
