Has anyone ever done anything with the map pocket on the passenger side of firebird stock dashes? I want to do Something, but I dont know what. Whats behind it? Not enough room for a glove box I'm sure.
Anyone have any pics of something neato you did there?
this is what mine looks like right now, oh and the Yosemite Sam floormats are long gone haha, I needed something in a pinch.
If you wanted a glove box, there actually was one that used to mount where the pocket is now & brought the dash out flat across, instead of the passenger side being so far forward.
I dont necessarily want a glove box, I just want to do something different. I was even thinking of a way to make a piece to cover the entire dash and make it uniform and smooth.
Yeah i think everyone will admit that the map pocket is pretty useless. Just like you the only use i could find is sunglass holder. but to answer your question i don't know of anyone adding a glove box.
What about smoothing it out with some glass and painting it or covering it in vinyl? I looked through a couple of interior threads and it seems that most people just leave it alone. I cant be the only one to want to tear it out, can I?
Mine's an '85 and doesn't have the dash pocket. I'm somewhat looking forward to installing the rest of the interior from my donor car so that I have one. It is kinda a silly thing to have though.
I hope somebody has a really good idea for the space thats there...
