Re: Steering wheel question

I have the same problem on my 89 RS. I can turn the wheel about an inch or two to the left and right before the wheels start to turn. It's fine at low speeds but it kinda bugs me at highway speeds when minor adjustments can be important. The previous owner was in an accident, but I don't know if it was like this before it or not.

Does anyone know any fixes?

Re: Steering wheel question

You might want to check the linkage between the steering bow and the firewall make sure there is no play in it. Or you might want to check the steering wheel for play in the hub of the steering wheel to steering shaft part.
