| Re: have a couple questions about dash swap 1.) The little yellow box on the back of the cluster is the early form of a VSS. It simply take sthe spinning speedo cable and converts it to a signal the earlier computers could use to calculate speed. I may be mistaken, but I don't think this is a part that you can find by itself, unless you steal one from a junkyard car.
2.) I believe that sender will work. You will need to contact the company to get some technical information of what the pulse per mile will be. There is a specific range for the electronic gauges that the cluster reads for the speedo. I believe it is 4,000 ppm for the speedo to register the correct speed
3.) 93 and up f-body's use an electronic speedo. The computer gets the signal from the vss in the trans and relays the information to the dash cluster. The chip in the cluster then converts that to movement in the needle.
