3rd Gens with center consoles from other cars

I am considering taking out my center console and putting in one from a 2nd gen...I want to see center consoles from other cars.

the most common one you're going to find is one from a 4th gen Fbody. I have one off a 2002 Trans Am. They are definitely not bolt on, but there is very minimal work to do to get it to fit. Eventually I would like to put something from a different vehicle. There was a thread on here were some guy was going to put in a center console from an RX8 but that thread went nowhere...

Re: 3rd Gens with center consoles from other cars

I also have a 4th gen console. Mine is from 2002 Camaro. After I trimmed the plastic extension off the front of it it dropped right into place and even re-used the stock console mounting holes. Mine was pretty much a plug & play direct bolt in with very minor modifications...but then again I have a manual transmission too. I think the swap took a whole 45 minutes to maybe an hour. That included fabbing up a window switch plate from sheet metal that mounted in place of the ash tray.

I've joined the crowd and have a 4th gen bird console. Gotta love having a cup holder!
