What color is this and where can I get replacement interior parts the exact same color?
I have checked Classic Industries and no luck. YearOne sells a "russet" that looks kind of like it but they won't send me a sample swatch to compare.
EDIT: Car in pictures is 1985 IROC. I am trying to figure out the interior color, but it does closely match the exterior paint as well.

Hey, if you're interested, we can send you some samples to match up. PM me with your contact info and we'll get some out your way.

For '87 i believe it was carmine red. But there are also many names for the same colors it seems as different sources online reference the colors differently.

It's not carmine red. Compared that with samples and it is very different.
Year Code Exterior Color
1985 11 WA 3967 White
1985 12 WA 8535 Silver
1985 15 WA 8573 Medium Gray
1985 19 WA 848 Black
1985 26 WA 8596 Dark Blue
1985 30 WA 8587 Bright Blue
1985 50 WA 8740 Yellow Gold
1985 54 WA 8525 Light Yellow
1985 60E WA 8590 Light Chestnut
1985 60W WA 9606 Light Chestnut
1985 69E WA 8591 Russet 1985 69W WA 8607 Russet
1985 75 WA 8537 Blaze Red
1985 78 WA 8524 Dark Red
Also, you have to consider that the age of the car faded the color somewhat. So, if you get the original color in new condition, it'll be bolder than what you have.

The only reason i brought up carmine red is because my '86 Berlinetta interior looked very similar to that. Although i cannot tell if it's age or not, but that interior seems a bit brownish red. I say try samples from 1A above and that will get you closer, but as mentioned, you replace any part of that interior and it will be noticeable between age and sun discoloration.
The interior is definitely a brownish red. The RPO codes I have are :
-68C "Trim combo, cloth, Dark Auburn
-68I "Interior trim, Dark Auburn
-689? "seat belt color, dark auburn"
The codes themselves I pulled out of the car. For the "interpretation" of them I referenced a couple different RPO lists online.
I haven't seen a "Dark Auburn" for sale anywhere. The color is faded a lot in places, but the kick panels and door panels all match closely the carpet color underneath the seats where the sun has not faded anything.
I could order color samples from 1A but I won't get them in time for my next trip to Classic Industries. Trying to get this figured out before then. Thanks for help!
FWIW I have the following, never looked them up though. I did buy mine from the original owner and he referred to it as copper. Don't recall if there's any paperwork. I've had the thing since '97. Plastics, carpet, seat belts, headliner, door panels and seats are all orangish/copper.
-68(B) But my door panels are not cloth.
-68I "Interior trim, Dark Auburn
-689? "seat belt color, dark auburn"
I have a 1985 firebird that has burnt orange interior(could be russet) map pocket, seat belts and all the plastic"s the whole interior. The seats are bright orange with a silver stripe down the middle of the seat front and back. just sharing and its not a faded brown, tan or red interior.
That is the exact same color. Even the seats are the same color and pattern. I guess Russet is a pretty hard color to find. Thanks for the pics! I can't seem to find door panels or seat upholstery in that color. I think I located all other parts in Russet though.

That color of the IROC you posted is a Z not an IROC BTW.
What do you mean? I thought all IROCs were also Z28? (but not vice versa)
The "IROC-Z" on my door panels definitely look original. The "Z28" RPO code is obvious. Is there an "IROC" RPO code?
Interesting. I guess that is the standard trim. I have the "deluxe" trim. Always wondered what the difference was.
i believe you are correct. the irocs ground effects always match body color. a iroc is always az28 but a z28 is not always an iroc. a z28s ground effect will always be two toned.
The interior is Copper. The exterior color is copper. In 1985, this interior was only available on the Berlinetta, Sport Coupe and Z28.
As for the Z28/IROC-Z issue, you are partially correct. In 1985-1987, the IROC-Z was an option package on the Z28. The only way to get an IROC-Z was to get a Z28 with that option package. In 1988, Chevy streamlined the model lineup and because of the popularity of the IROC-Z, made all Z28s an IROC. You could no longer have a Z28 or an IROC-Z, they were one in the same. The RPO code for an IROC-Z in 1985-87 was B4Z. In 1988-90, The RPO code was just Z28.
Where can Aaron R. and I find replacement interior or covers ect for copper interiors?
Update on this. Yesterday I found this carpet color on ACC's website and went back to Classic about it. They had to put it in their computer system and then were able to special order it for me. ACC calls it "Russet" and it is color #4896.
While I was there I matched a sample of my old headliner to Classic's "Russet" headliner material and it is an exact match. So I bought headliner material, sail panels, and sunvisors in Russet.
So, the only interior components I really have to replace now that I haven't located Russet color for is the upholstery and the door panels.
