Re: recommend a aftermarket steering wheel?

grant looks nice, but i dont like 100 bucks just for an adapter.

also i dont want a grant horn button. not many areas to get a nice firebird logo button. or even pontiac

i only paid 49.15 for my horn kit (grt-3196), steering wheel kit (grt-4000), and horn button (grt-5650). all these parts from summit and also have pontiac logo horn buttons.

Re: recommend a aftermarket steering wheel?

I LOVE grant wheels, nothing but GREAT things to say about them! and they are STRONG. I have a momo wheel that was on the car when i got it and it is a bit flimsy, i can pull or push a little and it flexes easily, not with any grantive had! and ive had a few as well as my dad.

ive always found older gm grant install kits at the local auto stores for ~$20 each!

cant wait for another grant.

Re: recommend a aftermarket steering wheel?

ive got a grant wheel in my 03 s10 i picked the kit up from advance and i love my steering wheel, with the above message grant makes a stout wheel. I will never use a woodgrain steering wheel again i never though about it but this will make some people think about it, when i was in high school my instructor told me to take the steering wheel out of my c1500 and throw it in the woods he said a friend of his got into a wreck had his hands on the wheel it bent the steering wheel forward the woodgrain broke and he impaled it on impact killed him on the spot. just something to think about.

heres a pic of mine in my s10

I am sure most of us got em from Autozone/Oreillys Check you're local stores and see what they got. For me unless Autozone keeps them in the back, Oreillys has most of em in display near the chrome/sticker isle. As for the Adapter there is about 5-6 if I recall. Get the Gm one. Also check this thread if you have a air bag camaro (91-92?) if I recall.

Clicky for Thread. (air bag wheel to grant INSTALL, & column rebuild FAQ)

I didn't have to suffer since I swapped in an older non tilt column since I got rid of vats so it was a simple align and bolt on.
