the tach in these cars isn't even worth trusting. the one in my 91 z28 vert reads about 200-300 higher than what my scan tool shows. unfortunately, those of us with the 90-92 dash are sort of screwed in regards to any kind of replacement gauges. you can run aftermarket ones, but will need to fabricate a custom cluster and wiring for it.
the speedo only decides to work occasionally and then i could be cruising at anywhere between 20 and 80, the oil pressure gauge dips to zero on a run but I know thats the sender, temp gauge jumps around like its had too much caffine
The digital dash seemed to have everything.. including the senders and a performace computer.
But you are right we do seem to be left out of the market
By comparison, my cars doing well. Fuel gauge hasnt let me down yet, and I've had it almost all the way to "E"nough before. I'd rather it read E with a quarter tank than a quarter tank with no fuel. Temp gauge reads well, and I've seen it go from peg to peg in an afternoon (Stupid water pump). Oil pressure gauge reflects what a scan tool reads, so im happy with that. Tach is a couple grand high, and the speedo doesnt work. But who really needs to know how fast we're going, eh?

I'm currently in the process of doin the aftermarket gauges with custom cluster. I took my stock bezel and fiberglassed over it, I got caught up in the body work of the car and gettin it swapped over to carburated so I kinda put it on hold. But I picked up a set of digital gauges, a guy at the local speedshop said that I can just find out which plug controlled what then make connectors and just plug and play. I may have them just install them for me after I get done makin th bezel. But I've got a lot of work to do to get the bezel just right before I go to install em
