How to install the accelerator pedal?

OK, I bought an accelorater pedal with the spring but can't figure out how to install it. I have the pin that goes through the hole that connects the plastic pedal to the pedal lever (?)

Can anyone explain to to install properly and do I have all that I need?

Thanks!

Call Toyota.

I'm just kidding. You know, in all the years I've been around cars, I've never had to R&R a late model GM pedal.

Re: How to install the accelerator pedal?

I've just had the same issue, you'd think this is bloody obvious but i've been faffing about trying all sorts of combinations but I can't figure out how the blinkin spring fits in.
Willing to admit i'm an idiot if someone can shed some light on the accelerator spring install mystery

Re: How to install the accelerator pedal?

The coiled part goes on the pin, to the right of the accelerator rod.The hook end goes on the accel rod, the straight end against the accelerator pedal. The pin goes in from the left side.I modified these to fit like the OEM pieces.

Re: How to install the accelerator pedal?

Many thanks guys, I think my confusion originated from the spring being set up incorrectly to start with.
